Admittedly, my tats aren't as intricate or colorful as some of the ones i've seen on here, and I have to say I'm envious of some I've seen. I only have 2, one that was sort of a spur of the moment decision and the other i actually put some thought and intent behind.. My first tat, Marvin the Martian, is my one and only OohRah scar. I got it as an incentive for my ex to get hers finished (she wanted to quit after just getting the outline..low pain tolerance). I picked Marvin for two reasons: 1. He is my favorite cartoon char, and 2. i thought the Roman god of war was an acceptable representative for a Marine.. My second tat i got a couple of years ago.. It is a tribal combination of a bear claw and a dragon.. The bear claw represents my Native American spirit guide, and the dragon represents my Eastern (read Asian) spirit guide, 1976 being the year of the Fire Dragon. The darker pic is taken by blacklight, showing the "pearl" glowing in the dragon's jaws. Pearl is my fiance's middle name, and I wanted something of her in my tat. The eyes and the pearl are done in UV ink, and since I've only gotten one layer, they aren't as reactive as I'd like. I might add I'm also a huge fan of light and optical tricks. I once did one of those posters you color in from the hobby store in regular and highlighter colors so that you got two completely different looking pictures depending on the type of light you had on it.. But i digress.. LOL.. I really enjoy seeing other people's tats and hearing the meaning behind them.. Thanks for sharing all of yours, and thanks for letting me share mine..
