Family support
« on: July 07, 2008, 10:24:44 AM »
My dad wasn't too fond of my shaved head for the first month but he has started to say that I should keep it. It feels good when your family comes around to liking the sly you.

We were at our local scuba shop teaching a class when the owner came in and got some tanks filled(this guy has a SERIOUS comb over), I went into the bathroom and he asked my padre, "What the heck is with that haircut?"  Without missing a beat, my dad replied, "It is better than a comb over."  It was great, I could hear the whole thing through the bathroom door.  My dad isn't bald yet but he does buzz his hair down fairly close.

That's awesome man, glad to hear that!

My mom has come to accept and like it, however my dad is a different story. He still isn't fond of it, and everytime I do it, he just gets all quiet. Oh well, he'll come around.

It DOES feel great when family supports you. It makes me happy to hear about a father showing some love for his son. Congrats man.
And to any fathers that might be reading...take a minute and show your kids some support and love. It really is important. And if you already do it, well kudos! Do it some more.  ;)

Yeah this is encouraging. I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks, tons of family and friends will see my sly for the first time. I already know a lot of the reactions from the older family members won't be great, but I'm hoping my cousins and friends dig it.

That's awesome how your dad stood up for you!

I think most of my family is blind.  They never comment on my noggin...other than my wife and kids.  OH...which reminds me...different thread...look for new thread posted by me.
