Hey, guys - After months of lurking here, I'm finally back to sly and decided it was time to introduce myself.
I'm an on again/off again headshaver. I have a full head of hair and I love to try different looks throughout the year, but at some point the urge to go sly always comes back. When the summer heat started to set in around Memorial Day, my hair was about 3 inches on top. I went to my barber and told him to give me a #1 all over. I loved it and figured after the mess of the initial buzz off, I'd maintain it myself. By the 3rd weekly buzzdown, I did away with the attachment. The only thing that kept me from going fully sly was the color differential. I always hate the period when your head is glow-in-the-dark white where the hair used to be.
Well, after a few weeks of clipper shaves and a sunny long July 4th weekend, I lathered up last night and I'm back where I belong - smooth, shiny and SLY! It's funny, because even with the #1 buzz, people were referring to me as "bald" or that my head was "shaved". But to me, the difference between stubble and sly is huge! When my bald head hit the pillow last night, I felt the difference. When I jump in the pool, it feels completely different. Yet nobody I saw today even noticed or commented on the change!
Anyway, I'm dedicated to staying sly through the summer, and then we'll see if I have any desire to grow it back out in the fall.
So that's my story. And I'm done being a lurker. I guess I didn't feel comfortable speaking up until I was sly again.
