I tried cleaning it with a soft cloth and it still froze in the exact same spot.I looked at the disc and to my naked eye there were no smudges or fingerprints.I really don't think I should rinse it under the faucet because you really shouldn't get them too wet. It's ok if you use a slightly damp cloth. The bad thing is that I bought this as a box set so if the one disc is screwed up I have to buy the entire box set again. This really sucks and if I buy a new set who's to say that there won't be a problem with that one.I just wish they didn't make them so damm delicate.Would you buy a new box set?
The bad thing is that I can't return it for a new one because I bought it 2 and a half years ago at Suncoast Video which is no longer in business. And I'm not gonna buy a whole new box set for just one defective disc. However I also have the Lost in Space episodes on VHS from Columbia House Video so I decided that I'll watch the undamaged episodes on the DVD disc and when I want to see the episode on the disc that froze I'll watch it on my VHS tape of that episode. It makes more sense that way.
If it's defective, return it for a new one. Try the disk in a different DVD player and see if the same thing happens. I've had disks skip in one machine that play OK in another. Not sure why.
