I don't think it'll take too long for me to get used to it, though I can't stop rubbing my head or looking in the mirror at the moment. It's been so long since I've looked in a mirror and been happy with what I saw, though I'll have some trouble accepting that the guy looking back at me is actually me.
I look tougher than I feel. I honestly had given up on feeling attractive or being desirable and haven't dated in a couple years. It will take some time to overcome these confidence issues, but this is one hell of a support group for all that
... just the thought of a woman rubbing my head makes me all giddy inside

the thing that gets me still, (and i originated this post 5-6 months ago

) is that i'm 24 and i can't grow much hair on my head OR my face! some of you dudes look bad ass with goats or beards and the shaved head. if i could actually grow a nice thick goat, i think i would have gotten used to the sly look alot sooner. so i'm screwed either way! haha. i also dig the glasses with shaved head look, but my vision is 20/20

The glasses can look cool with the sly dome but you should be thankful for your good vision. Both glasses and contacts are a hassle, another thing to buy and another thing to break.
I want to get lasics at some point in the future.

don't worry about the facial hair issues...you'll probably grow out of it. I didn't need to shave daily until I was 25 and couldn't grow a decent beard until I was around 35...
these days, hair grows in all kinds of interesting places...LOL.

Took me a little while like all the others, but once I really started getting the technique down and got some sun on my head so it wasn't so white, I couldn't go back. I tried once just for the hell of it and I just couldn't bear it after a week.
SLY TIL I DIE!

One thing I recall is during first several weeks after I started shaving daily, I would be at work and my head would itch. I'd reach to scratch expecting the usual bristle of the sides of my flat top and stubble on landing strip, and all that was there was that smoooooth feeling of a freshly shaved bald head! lol

One day.
I think I had been ready for a while. In some other posts I've written that one day I had hair down to my shoulder blades and the very next day I had shaved it smooth. I had been watching a show called "The Shield" with Michael Chikliss and his dome had me kinda psyched up to do the deed. But I had some little pushes prior to scraping the dome so when I made the decision it was "just do it".

At day 10.
I am still not 100% used to it but I am WAY more comfortable than I was the first few days.
The "weird" factor seems to be gone.
Plus after 10 days I am getting pretty good at the act of head shaving.

Sounds like it's going well Eric, and it only gets better. That's why we suggest the unwritten rule of thirty days.
You will get more and more comfortable with your new smooth dome, and much more proficient at shaving it.
Keep up the good work.
