Our Opening Day is Saturday! The Parade starts at 9:00 AM sharp. Then opening festivities, picnic, ceremonial first pitch and then 10 games during the course of the day. Neither of the two teams I coach is going to be very good this year but I have absolutely GREAT, FUN kids this year and can't wait to get it on! The kids are ready to ROCK!
Finally all the bullshit stops........... and the games begin...........
That brings back some memories.
Little League was some of the best times of my life.

yeah i think I'm reliving a little of my own childhood thru these kids. I still get chills when I walk out onto that field early in the morning, thru the dew covered grass, and the "smell" of baseball is in the air...........
Holy sh*t.... I sound like some character from Field of Dreams!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously .... there is just something about watching a kid in his first uniform hitting a ball for the first time in his first game.

I agree! You totally nailed it, the dewy grass, the freshly raked infield, the general anticipation of the beginning of a sport season when it is still all about having fun, not politics.
That is the sweet sweet smell of spring. I can almost feel the dirt crunching under my feet and smell the field.
GOD I LOVE BASEBALL!
Good luck with your team this year, have a great time!
Thanks MARZ.......... I love baseball too.............
Sports in its purest form!!
Mike I must say that I envy you. You have one of the best jobs a guy can have coaching little league.
Marz has hit it right on. I played Little League from ages 8-18 and they were some of the best times I've ever had.
My favorites were the night games, the smell of popcorn and baseline chalk and leather from the gloves. Damn what great times. When the overhead flood lights came on, it was like God was shining down a beam of light in our small little town in the middle of cornfields in NW Ohio.
