Hey I really dont know if this appropriate to post in a forum site...but im gonna anyways. On Oct. 10th, My wife Kris and I along with our daughter Chelsea are going to Port de Paix Haiti on a mission trip with our church. THis will be my wife's first time and my daughter and I 2nd time. The mission we are helping out is called SonLight Ministries. While there we will be helping the teachers teach in the schools and interact with the kids. Here are some pictures of the kids in school that we helped teach and some of the kids that we interacted with on the streets.

IN the afternoons we will be doing community service projects. Last year we cleaned a 1/4 mile of road way going each way from the school and did alot of painting.

This is one of the projects we painted.
They are in the process of tryin to build a new church. They have been working on it for 3 years now and last year this is as far as they gotten....

Everything is on Haitian time there...you might get supplies and you might not. So you just work with what you have. My daughter will be helping out in the orphange while we are there. When I cant locate her...I know to go look in the orphanage.

So I am going to ask all you sly bro's to help pitch in and help raise some money to be used during this coming Fall Mission trip. If you are against this, its ok. But for me, its well worth me volunteering for and its a life changing experience for anyone who goes. So with your help and true kindness, and all of our hard work there to help teach the kids and people of Haiti about God, maybe..just maybe we can make a difference. And with all of our efforts...we can help get and keep Haiti clean so many others can enjoy beautiful scenery just like I had seen....

Thanks Timmay

Do you have a direct link you could post where we could read more and donate if we choose?
This sounds like a VERY worthy place to send a donation - and we all know here what an upstanding citizen you are - so there would probably be quite a few of us willing to pitch in for your cause!

Thanks for all the replies. I have a direct link to my church it is
www.acclife.org. Feel free to visit the site and look around. The Mission in Haiti is called son ligh ministries and I do not have a direct link to them. Any donation will be sent to my church and be deposited into the mission account. If anyone is interested in help funding the mission you can contact me and I will give you the info and instructions on how to make a donation. We will be leaving on Oct 10th so our donation drive is now underway.

I am going to ask each and everyone of you to consider making a donation to this mission. Please pray about it and if you really want to make a difference in the world, my promise to you and God is to do the best that I can and for God to give me the ability to help in anyway that He see's fit.
Thanks Again and God Bless

Great cause Tim. You've earned a place in heaven!!
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
