Your opinion of your own appearance is the most critical thing.
If your current hairline is the same as it was in the 3 yr old pic you posted, you definitely have options. Like others have said, it's nice to have that option.

I went through the same with my dad, my dad still prefers me with hair, but i have a tripple whammy, i have folliculitius 9 skin condition), thinning hairline, and a receding hairline, my dad has a full head of hair, no skin condition, and he still has his natural hair colour, and he is a senior citizen.
I say do whatever you prefer
I would keep it slick if i were you
I am happy being sly, It just bugs me that most my friends started out saying it looks cool, but now they've changed their minds back.
Further to the story with my Dad yesterday, He went on to say that he thinks that i should grow it while i still can. He has a personal trainer who is a sly guy and he shaves his head because he doesn't like his bright red hair.
Dad did however ask me why I shave my head, I said "Because I can, and its something different for a while".
My dad refuses to believe that I have the beginnings of MPB.
Anyway, I always intended on keeping it Sly, just their comments get to me sometimes.

Dude, especially if you're balding more now..
DO NOT attempt a grow out...why..? to feel self conscience...
have a heart to heart with dad and anyone you care about..
tell them you feel much more in control when your head is shaved smooth..
no worries and a ton more confidence..
but grow it, if that's what YOU want..
i think you rock the bald head though bro!
Keep it bald brutha!

That pic is three years old like i said.
I did talk to dad then, he basically asked me why, I said that its what i want to do and its something different for a while. I actually should have also said that it makes me worry less about the thining/receding hair line.
He went on to tell me that I should grow it while i can as i might not be able to otherwise.
The end point is this, i hate how my hair grows now as the sides grow fast as does the the middle, which ends up having a strange shape when you look at me from front on. Like someone has taken at me with clippers and not finished. It is true though, when i let it grow out (hardly ever now) I am always checking out my scalp and hair.
I'm gonna keep it sly for quite some time.

I dont like having hair now. I now need to work on shaving it daily without the irritation,

Hey Outsider,
Dude life's too short and you can't please everyone. You have to do what makes you happy. I'm gonna give my 5cents worth of advice here. Your avatar has you with a goat and so does the old pic you posted with hair.
The goat and hair combo looks fine. But the goat with your head shave makes your face appear long.
You ROCK the beard and shaved head in your "recent" photo. I say that's your best look, so stand firm and keep shaving your head (and not your beard)!

I think ,when it's a natural conversation bring THAT point up...it's huge ,especially for a dad..why wouldn't he want you to be a strong ,confident person..I'm sure in the end he'll understand!
Awesome, you should keep it bro, bald fits ya brutha! Shave it daily and moisturize, it DOES help with the irritation!
Keep it smooth dude...it's YOU!

Just my opinion. Beard. Make it go bye-bye. Then see what happens. If people close to you don't like the look, look at their opinion and see what you can change to achieve the true Sly perceptions from others. I didn't phrase that right, but you get the point. People will get used to it, just keep it up and watch how your loved ones will get used to it
No matter what, if you like your sly look that's what matters. Remember, it's all a matter of confidence in your look and how you feel.

While browsing posts I ran across the pic of you Sly with the full beard. Just wanted to say that is a really great look for you. Are you just sporting the goatee now like your avatar picture?

Totally agree with Red. The beard and the sly look is the best for you. I like it better then the hair pic also.
Good luck Dude and do what makes you happy, the others will soon move on and get used to your new style.

What do you feel better with?

?
Your father and friend, are just used to seeing you in a different way. If they were used to seeing you with no hair, and all of a sudden you grew it, they would tell you to shave it.
It is mentally hard for someone to adjust to a strong physical change, such as this.
If you like the way you are now, tell your family and loved ones that this is how you are now. I'm sure they will accept and love you the same. And I'll bet in a couple of years, when you are riding with your father (awesome by the way), if you put a wig on, he would say you looked better bald.

Amen to what Mikeoz13 said. One thing I have learned in 44 years is if you spend yoru time trying to please other people...YOU are the one who will suffer. Stand in a room with 20 different people and you will have 20 different opinions. And opinions change. The only one that really matters is the one you have of YOU!
