Hey guys, I just found this site today and it looks awesome...I've have been looking around the internet at all the bald information out there...there's quite a bit

OK so I'm 19, in college, and my hairline seems to be creeping further and futher away. I've always had a very high forehead and have always been bugged that one day I will be bald. I always just thought I had a high forehead (my dad does as well) but now I'm starting to think my hair will actually be gone like my mother's side of the family. I'm not losing tons of strands of hair, my hairline just seems to be thinnning.

Haha so I'm having all the same insecurities that many get when they realize this is happening. It's not bugging me too much, but in a way it is. I'm a pretty young guy and I'm recently single and my last girlfriend was all about the hippie hair thing. I don't mean to be conceded or anything but I've always been a decent looking guy from what I've been told, and my hair kind of complimented me.

I've always kept some sort of bangs so my hairline wasn't as prominent but now I'm thinking I should get down to business with something. I guess you can take a look at my picture there.

I'm thinking about just buzzing it down a fair bit. I'm scared to just go straight bald. What do you guys think?.....

nfallin: 1st of all welcome 2 the sly fraternity. glad that ya found us. 2nd of all...from the pic your hairline doesn't look like its receding at all. matter of fact... U look like U got a headful of hair. however... if U R being hesistant about going completely slick than i would just get a real short buzz cut. the important thing is what U want. anyways... jump in & join the fun by being an active member of the best site on the internet.

Hey bro, welcome to Sly Bald Guys. I'd say give a buzz a try to see how you like it short. My bet is that you'll then want to see what it looks like shaved.

Welcome Fallin....glad you found this site and decided tojoin. Its a great place to hang out and get to know a bunch of other head shavers. Like Tyler said....you will soon one day want to find out what it is like to be slick liek the rest of us. I would say skip trying the short shave and just go for the GOLD man. Try it for 30 days and if you dont like it ....grow it back. Thats your freedom to do what you want. I would at least give it a try, heck I did and I love it. Its been 10 months for me and Im sticking with it. I may not be the most handsome looking guy, but i sure do get alot of head rubs and noggin kisses because of it. Its something to think about BRO! GO FOR IT

Welcome bro!

Don't worry about shaving it (if that's what you end up wanting to do)...you'll look good with a bald head..

and there are a lot of dudes that shave their heads clean...

because they WANT to and don't need to...

Hang out a while..

you'll see a lot of other bald young dudes here!

thanks for the welcomes guys....warhawk I've been pretty good at styling my hair so it doesn't look as obvious..but when I pull my hair back it really looks like things are starting to go..yeah I'm thinking the buzz cut thing is the way to do it...thanks tyler...maybe I should take a pic of my hair pulled back or something so you guys can see maybe what going on?.....

Gotta tell ya, you're looking a lot better off in the hair department than I was at 19.
If you're curious about it, buzz it down a bit. If not, let it go & ride the hair wave.

Like others have said, buzzing it down can be addicting!!

nfallin,welcome to the forum mate.

I have a full head of hair which I choose not to have. Hair does not make a man. From your photo I dont see any signs of MPB but even if there is, I agree with the other guys, Give it a #1 or #2 buzz and see how you like it. Then take the razor to the dome and free yourself from the Hair burden.

Welcome to the SBG Family nfallin , we're glad you've joined us. I personally am BBC that's Bald By Choice, I started shaving my head over ten years ago, before then in my teens and early adult hood, I spent more money and time on perfecting my hair, than I think some women do. I used Mouse Hairspray, Gel, you name it. I love shaveing my head, and I've never looked back. Yes I do sometimes get lazy and let it go for about a week (MAX) then after I shave it again I wonder why the hell I waited so long. I guess the only point I am trying to make is that you have to do what you think is best for you, not what others think is best.
Also I don't know if this will help you decide or not but there is a website called Baldeygo, or something to that affect, where you can upload a picture of yourself, and they will send you picks oh how you would look bald, and buzzed. Maybe one of the other brothers can give you the exact website.

Welcome NFallin... the guys have offered some great advice... if you're thinkin' about it, just buzz it down just to see what it looks like, then either try shaving it completely or if you don't like it grow it back out - never know 'til you try!
