Sedation Dentistry....dude, where's my car, man?
« on: March 01, 2008, 01:42:48 PM »
Just curious if anyone has done the sedation dentistry thing.

Here in Denver we have commercials for this that include taking a mild sedative in addtion to being hooked to nitrus.

Anyone gone to this sort of service?  Where they use either/or .... both / and ?

I was put under gas once...had all 4 of my wisdome teeth cut out at the same time.  They thought they were gonna have to put me totally under but I was a real trooper and hung inthere.  Never really felt anything.....it was a sweet ordeal.  But I do remember going home .......passing out on the bed wiht my legs hanging over the side of the bed...and my wife said she had to take my hand out of my pants....LOL..

Yeah, wisdom teeth.....but they advertise (out here anyway) that you can avail yourself to sedation for just getting your teeth cleaned.

My dentist in CA used to hook me up with the gas for anything and everything... man, I miss that dentist.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

In addition to the gas, some Docs out here offer a "pill" that you take 30 minutes before yer appt.

Talk about diggin on goin' to the Dentist  :@`

Haha I remember in 2003 I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed from my dentist on base. They gave me an IV of something and I was out. I came to when he was still yanking and twisting on my jaw. I freaked out! haha He was like "nurse! nurse!" I can still picture the cracking and twisting  O0 :*))

Anyone here ever had a crown put on a tooth?  Recently I had  broken a  back molar on a Big Mac.  I don't know if Mickey D's is going to pay at this point as I could not find the bone fragment that I bit down on.  So I may be screwed there.  But I am pissed about the fact that my employer does not pay for dental insurance.  I had to buy some on my own but they don't pay much for procedures.  Maybe I need sedation dentistry to put me out of my financial misery.  Thankfully my tooth does not hurt yet!
