Hi!

I'm Steven, 21 years old, and been losing my hair for 4 years. Because I didn't do anything about my thinning hair, I'm now at the point where, in the next year, I will either have to shave my head or be a balding 21 year old. It's inevitable, I know, but a part of me just can't seem to do this.
I have that indentation that looks like maybe my skull didn't fully come together. I've seen other guys who have it, but never to the degree that I have. It's not SO bad, but it is bad enough that I'm sitting here starting a topic about it. Does anyone know what this is or have any pictures of guys with it? I'll try to look for some too to show you what I'm talking about.
Before I go, I'd like to say that this forum has been a blessing to me.

singlestep....1st of all welcome 2 the sly fraternity. glad that ya found us. by reading your post and signing up 2 B a member of the SBG forum....U R having thoughts of shaving your dome. anytime one has thoughts of shaving their head that person will NEVER B satisfied until that person actually shaves their noggin' smooooth. also...a balding 21 year old (as U have stated about yourself) seems 2 B bothersome 2 U because if it wasn't U wouldn't B posting here. i say embrace what mother nature has given U and just embrace your baldness and get a quality razor and shave your dome smoooooth.
hope U stick around and become an active member of the best site on the internet. keep us posted 2 your road 2 slyness.

Singlestep, welcome to Sly Bald Guys. We are always much more critical of ourselves than other people are. My thought is that it's not as bad as you think. Have you shaved your head before or is the indentation noticeable now? If not, you won't really know what it's like until you shave.
Another thought is that instead of waiting you should beat mother nature to the punch and give shaving a try. Then if your friends ask why you did it you can say something like "I was just curious what I looked like without hair" instead of saying "I'm losing my hair."

I agree with Tyler, we are usually more critical of ourselves than other people are. Whatever your decision, this is a great group of guys and we all support each other. Gotta tell you though - there's nothing like a smooth head!
I love it and the wife loves it too. Hang around a while and read up on stuff and I think you'll find a whole support structure here that you can't beat. By the way, my name is Stephen too.

Singlestep...I agree with the other three inhere..and what others will post.....but hey do what Tyler said. Get in control of it now before mothernature steps in. Because at this point you still have control. Its your decision to let it go....and wait...or grab it by the horns now. Nothing is more liberating than shaving your noggin. At least this way...when people ask you why you shaved your head....( this always excites me..) you can say ...BECAUSE I CAN!!!! It wont be because you just lost all your hair...because you havent lost it yet....but get out that razor tonight....Ya know...its Leap Year....so come on...do it...you will not be sorry....what better day than today! Three cheers for SingleStep....You can do it bro

Singlestep-
Welcome to the Forum!
As the other brothers have said.....Try it. I think almost every single guy on this Forum would tell you it was a liberating and exhilarating experience (but a little scary for many) shaving thier head the first time. The bonus is that MANY women love it. Shaving will also let you quit worrying about your hair and get on with better things in life.
Good luck in your decision and you can always ask any of us for advice.

Hey Singlestep i also started to go bald very young. I am 33 but i started thinning a LOT when i was 23.
I have very dark hair and it showed a lot and i used to be very self conscious about it.
It was unti i was 27 years old that i decided to go SLY.
I am telling you.. it was the bes thing that has ever happened to me.
People out of the blue started to tell me how great i look, they even (still) tell me that i look better now than before (i am sure a lot of you guys get this comment).
So with time and this kind of comments i gained a lot more confidence and now i am a very proud sly guy.
I strongly recommend you do it man.
Best of luck

Welcome Singlestep, great to have you on board. Hey, we all have various imperfections, they make us who we are. Go and shave it, I can promise you people will be more drawn to your face and eyes than to your head. Start enjoying the sly life now.

Singlestep... Nothing is more liberating than shaving your noggin.
Amen brudda!
Singlestep... it's obvious you want to take the leap. That's why you came here in the first place.
Dude, consider all the benefits...
-no more "bad' hair days
-ease of maintenance
-it's cooler and I sweat like a pig
-it looks tough and intimidating
-nothing for someone to grab in a fight
-high CDI (Chicks Dig It) factor

Singlestep... My best advice to you is don't put off until tomorrow,
what you can do today.

Rodge, Are you a "sweat hog"??
Steven, it's only hair.
Just go for it. You have my guarantee that you'll be more than satisfied.
Veyron and Mike,
See you got your kids in your avatar too. Nice kids.

Tmmmay, if Logan knew that you axed his mug, he'd be very mad.

Eric you got ESP or something?? I'm one of the original sweat hogs. Went to Fillmore High in Brooklyn. OO OO, Mr. Kotter!! No I'm not Barabarino.
No I'm not Horshack. More like Juan Epstein, the jokester of the group.
Look at that bunch. Bad 70's hair all around!

Eric seems you scared away Veyron's kid. He's gone solo in his avatar.
I'll repost my four brats.
Some of you may remember them. Looks can be deceiving.
The're not as innocent as they look!

Welcome to the forum Veyron.
I'm an ex-NewYorker. Brooklyn born and raised. My dad and grandpop were Brooklyn Dodger fans. Can't wait to go to Shea this season to see my two favorite teams battle at Shea for the final time.
