Grammy Awards Score Card

Have any favorites?

It's a no-brainer that Daughtry will take the Best Rock Album Category

and Taylor Swift should win Best New Artist

Did anyone watch these?  I think it was on last nigh, yeah?
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

I did...

I was surprised at the lack of new artists, they really paraded a lot of older "legends" through and sprinkled folks like Kanye and Fergie into the mix... I was fairly disappointed. It seems that the grammy's have not changed a whole lot for the past 5 years. I am surprised Aerosmith and U2 were not "Featured Artists".

The Cirque du Soleil  performance from the Vegas hit "Love" was the best part of the evening IMO and George Martin being honored was well deserved.

The Foo Fighters were on the "outside" stage as though they were the dirty up and comers that had not made the big time yet... dont get me wrong, they were good but seriously, it was nothing that had not been seen inside years prior.

And seriously does anyone need more Beyonce? I know she is good looking and all but c'mon... I think her parents are even sick of her being everywhere.

I did think Kanye had a pretty cool stage setup and gave a good performance, but he is more and more Sean "Puff Daddy / P-Diddy" Combs v2.0 every time I see him.

I am convinced the grammys have no "edge" at all and are basically a showcase of the "safe and pretty" acts of the past 3 - 50 years. It seems like music is not a priority, it is more of a variety show.

Amy Winehouse was the "breakout" artist I guess but of all the music that is made each year, this is all they can do?

Haven't watched the Grammys in....forever.

Agonizing over what cannot be is an insult to what is.

My predictions were wrong!
Daughtry won a handful of AMA's, but came up empty at the Grammys.
They do give awards out to the obscure. I remember when Jethro Tull won the first Grammy for Metal. Tull's not Metal!

Morris Day and the Time, man that takes me back.
Did they do Jungle Love?

Reminds me of the 80's TV Show, "Puttin on the Hits" where contestants lip-synched to songs. There were quite of few that performed, Jungle Love. I even gave that a try at a Jr. High School talent show.
What was I thinking??  ???
