I'll never forget the very first 10k road race I ran.  It was a military race at Fort Knox and went up and down two famous hills there known as "Misery" and "Agony". It was 1980 and I was 20.  I finished in the top third of the field but clearly recall being beaten by a 65 year old retiree in the senior group.(The hippie crewcut Ihad at the time was slowing me down!)

Hey sorry to bring up an old topic, but I just had to touch on this again. I am taking kickboxing and Jujitsu at night after work to keep me busy. I got on the mat with this old man, and was sure I was going to toss him right around. No way.

This guy was so freaking strong. He is prolly in his late 50's. This guy embarrased me. His grip and strength was amazing. Haha goes to show you that there is such a thing as old man strength!
