Misterrr Bond...
« on: December 05, 2006, 05:56:00 AM »
Has anybody seen the new Bond film that just came out, Casino Royale?

What do you make of Daniel Craig? Is he up to the challenge? Did he make a good Bond?

And who's your favourite Bond actor?

This guy:

this guy:

or this guy:

or perhaps this gentleman:

or this fellow:

or perhaps even this new kid:

Who loves ya, baby?

Oooh, good question.  I think everyone here is going to vary in their opinions on this one based on who they associate with more.

I think Connery was the ultimate Bond, but I really do like Craig as the new Bond.  I don't think Casino Royale was as good as some of the Brosnan films, but I think Craig is a more believable Bond than Brosnan.  Too be honest, I wasn't too big on any of the Bond films after Connery until the Brosnan films were made.

I haven't seen Casino Royale, but one thing I will miss is all the cool new gadgets Bond had in the newer films.   The invisible car especially.

Love all the bond films but haven't seen this one yet. It's on my list!

For some reason, this new guy dosen't have the slick charm that Brosnam had. He reminds me of a Jack Bauer typ of character. Not sure if I will like him.

Yeah, there aren't too many gadgets in this new movie.

Q needs to invent a gadget that matches dress socks. You don't see 007 holding up socks to the light to see if he has 1 blue one and 1 black one.

That is one hell of a good question. It's like the Tootsie Pop, the world may never know. God forbid we would have to find out. It would be one hell of a mess.

A side note on Chuck Norris.  I'm a sucker for movies that are so stupid they are hilariously funny.  See Adam Sandler in billy madison/the waterboy.   Well Dodgeball was no exception.   And one of the best scenes in the movie is when at the end they needed judges approval to let Vaughn play.   And the first two votes split, so it comes down to the last judge.... none other than Chuck Norris, who gives the OK for vaughn to play.   And Vaughn responds, thank you Chuck Norris.

I do seriously thank the people of Louisiana for three food items.   One, gumbo(can't live without it, even in texas).   Two, red beans and rice(I found a place in houston that makes it outstanding, with spicy catfish as well.)  Three, beignets.   We went to new orleans on our way to visit friends who had moved to mississippi and I had some of those awesome fried pastries.
