I am an art historian -- which some people (not anyone in here, I'm sure),  think of as the antithesis of the artist.

I like to think that historians and critics 'complete' the work of art, by maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the artist (even those who have been dead for centuries) and those who view the artwork (as Marcel Duchamp said; the viewer completes the work of art.)

p.s.    I also dabble in photography .  I have a portfolio of photos from Mount Athos, Greece .  If anyone's interested I can email a selection.

That's awesome John. My wife is going to resume her quest for her BA in Jan. If that goes well she might take it a step further and specialize in photography and bump her degree up to the BFA. I wanted to have a carreer in art back when I was in H school, but now I just do it for my own amusement and to placate my boredom.

I'm still going to art school but i've been working in the graphic arts field for 2 years now.  I have drawn my whole life and my favorite med. is pen and ink.
