I've been using Headslick for about a month now on my scalp and finishing up the Edge gel on my face.  Used the last bit of Edge today, so tomorrow will be the first time I use Headslick for face and dome.

I have to be honest -- I don't see what the big deal about Headslick is.  I don't have any real complaints about it; it does a decent job.  It's no better and no worse than any gel that I've ever used. My main reason in switching to it is that my bathroom sink was getting clogged pretty frequently, which I am blaming on a buildup of gel.   Since Headslick doesn't foam up like the gels, I'm thinking that it's less likely to build up in the drain.  I do miss that nice, thick, stiff foam that the Edge gel produced.

What is it about Headslick that everyone loves so much? 

Paulie, I think you may be right re: the menthol in the Headslick causing you to be sick.


I have used nearly every type of shaving lubricant possible. Gels,creams,foams,soap etc.Probably around 20 in the past 6 months.

I have found Headslick one of the best for 2 reasons:

1.Low foam and water based,Doesnt gunk up the razor and allows you to see where you have shaved.

2. Because of what it is made of, it really gives the razor a great glide,like greased lighting. I've never got such a smooth shave before with any other product,even KOS product.

Bald Guys Ultimate Shave Gel is the only other product that comes close to it.

I saw some Headslick and bought a couple of days ago, I'm a big fan, not only on my scalp but on my face too.  I had been using gels up to now on my head and face.  They're fine but Headslick is better, much better,  I get started after the shower by soaping up the dome and face with Cuticura soap (I have had acne and skin problems for years and Cuticura, together with 10% benzoyl peroxide gel applied after shaving, solved them flat).   After working up the Cuticura, I apply the Headslick and put a little more hot water on too with my hands and it works up a nice lather.  I do my face first, then with wet hands rework the scalp then shave w/ my trusty Power Fusion against the grain.  My face and scalp come out absolutely baby butt smooth--couldn't ask for more, then a little of the benzoyl peroxide gel and later a little skin conditioner w/ SPF.  I guess after a month of daily head shaving my skill set for shaving has improved, but as far as close and smooth the Headslick on the face has been remarkable and I've used foams and gels and never had a smoother more comfortable shave and that I have been shaving all my life with the exception of a couple of full face beards for a couple of years.  This is one "Head" product I'm going to stick with.
