Hey Bailes from the UK here, another sly recruit to your great site. I currently shave my head down with a electric shaver with no guard on. Im currently 21 so it was quite a young age for my head to receed, but its one of those things. It never crossed my mind about using drugs to try and regrow it, it was deffiantly gonna be shave
So what do you reckon can i pull the sly look off ?

i could always try and grow a ponytail and hang it over like a lecturer of mine

Welcome, Bailes, Like wpruitt said, the best thing to do is just grab a razor and take it all the way down. There's nothing to be afraid of....after all, it will grow back if you don't like it, and probably within just a couple of days. But, real glad you joined us and tell us more about yourself and join in on the fun.

Bailes, you'll probably find that a clipper with no guard shave is not all that much more of a step to razor it slick smooth.
Welcome to SBG's ,enjoy this great site.

Welcome to the SBG site, Bailes, glad you decided to go the route you did.
Like the other sly guys said, you're not that far off to give it a shot and see. It will grow back to what you had in less than a week. Post up and let us know how it goes.

Bailes, welcome to Sly Bald Guys! It looks great! How have the reactions been from people you know?
Parents - yes .. mixed to start with, they started saying it was way to short etc etc ... i knew they would come around eventually, which they seem to have now, as ive been doing this for a month or so, they dont bother saying anything now which is good.
Grandparents - haha thats a diffrent story, at first they didnt say a word, but last week they both mentioned that they dont like it that in kinda of a serious tone and they said we'd prefer it if you grow it longer, i admit it did get to me for the rest of the day, angry would be the word. I know they come from an older generation but its like me saying i dont like your new car can you revert back to the other one. Arghh, annoying.

mates - go back to university this week, so it will be the first time ive seen them since the shave, it shall be interesting

im sure to get a few remarks from the lecturers

i look forward to the banter

Bailes, welcome aboard - glad to have you. Like JDog said, it wouldn't be too much of a reach to just shave it down with a razor. But, if you're comfortable with the way it is now, then go with that. However, being sly is awesome - lots of head rubs from beautiful ladies!

Welcome Bailes! You definitely can carry off the look. Shaving it smooth is a real trip, and most of us here stay on that extended 'vacation.' But keeping it a short buzz works too, and shows that you're in control of your hair loss. It sounds like you have the right attitude about hair loss and no drugs. If there was truly a cure for baldness, we'd all know about it, and it wouldn't be communicated on late night informercials. Let us know if we can help answer any questions for you.

Hiya Bailes,
I'm from the U.K too. There's a few Brits on here. What part are you from? I live in Kent.
You'll have no problem pulling off the sly look. You're as good as there already. As others have said, if you did shave it completely it will only take about 3 or 4 days to get back to where you're at now. If you're happy with it as it is for the mo - that's fine too.
Don't worry about your grandparents ... like you say... different generation .... my 85 year old mum still occasionally tells me i should go for a comb-over!!

Anyway, check in often & as Stew says, if there's any questions, just fire away.

Not much to add to the excellent comments by the other brothers except to say welcome. Great to have another UK contingent on board.
