Its great to hear that you got an even better job Lance and one that will let you be yourself.   Good luck and keep us informed as to how it goes.

John....I dont think anyone in here is MAKING you do anything.  We all have our free right...I think they are just telling you what looks best on you....
Sorry if we come across to you as being pushy.  It just all makes for good conversation thats all.  My apologies if I have come across that way.  Not like anyone is standing in front of another wiht a gun to his head...telling he/she that they are going to do it or else.
Its all cool Bro....dont sweat it....YA GOTTA LOVE  :@` :@` BROTHER HOOD!

Lance, good to hear you found another job that allows you to keep your family time and set schedule, pays well and is more lenient on facial hair.

Like John said , we all hijack now and then, (look at Tim,  ;) ) it is more like a regular conversation, but then we reel it in.

Also, John, no one can tell us what to look like now (except our wives, lol), we're all adults.
I was the same way growing up, (long hair, earring, tats, leather jacket, etc.).
I think it's better to stand out and stand for something. Of course, our jobs will dictate how far we can go on that. That won't change, unless you own the company, or hit lotto!, lol.

I could be wrong here and I wouldn't blame John for setting me straight if I am.  But I don't think he necessarily meant us here on this forum when he stated "TOLD" what to look like.

I'm sure John understands that we were only giving helpful opinions on a subject he may have asked about.

I think you may have taken that the wrong way TimmJ.  But like I said, I could be wrong.

What's up John?  Chime in brother.

Hey Timm;  all I can say is " I don't know what you're talking about ! !"   ...  I wasn't taking offence at anything you or the other guys said.  Maybe I just worded something funny and you missread.  I was just telling Lance that I'm happy he is not in a job where he's being told how to look --it's something that's bothered me in the past . .........       OK ... Now  I THINK I see what you meant.  Guys; I wasn't implying that I thought you all were "telling me how to look" back when I was on the fence.  In a way you were, I guess, but really ; you were all telling me what I WANTED to hear.   Whey else would I be in this forum but to get talked into going sly ?!?!?  ......  so anyway; it's all good; hope I've make myself clear. .... Now go out and get a haircut, Timm ! ! ! ! .....

Great news re the job Lance. So the facial hair was saved, as opposed to shaved, at the last moment then?

John, I know exactly what you meant about being told how to look when you were younger. When I was at school, in the early 70's, I really wanted to have long hair but was always forced to get it cut when it got to a certain length. I did have it long for a little while when I was 17 - but by the time I was 20 in 1982, it was already beginning to recede, just as everyone was getting into flat-tops & bleaching & colouring & all that stuff ... I would have loved to have gone in for some of that too but, due to the receding etc it wasn't really an option. It always made me slightly resentful that for most of the years when I could have had the hairstyles I wanted, I wasn't allowed, & then, when I should have been able to decide for myself ... the dreaded receding kicked in. So now, thankfully, there ain't nobody gonna ever tell me how I should look again!

SLY FOR LIFE!  O:O
