New bald lady joining in!

Hey everyone!
I've been lurking here for a while and finally gathered up the courage to join the conversation.
I'm a makeup artist and a barber, I've had a buzzcut in every possible length and did it with clippers but a month ago finally had a barber friend shave me with a single blade (completed with the lather and hot towel) and there was no going back.
Being bald makes me feel like myself and having a bbs head is a daily source of happiness and confidence.
I've gotten tons of compliments and the only criticism I've gotten has been from my mom.:D

Welcome to the site and to baldness!

After ourselves, I think our mothers tend to be our most prominent critics.  No matter how old we are, we are still children in their eyes and they can't resist commenting / trying to "improve" us.

I know exactly what you mean by the mother comment. Nearly a decade after first head shave, my mother still grumbles hahaha.
