I know there are a few of you around...
I have been traveling into the northern IL (Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, Batavia etc) area alot for work over the last few weeks and will have to be going back in a few.
I see alot of sly bros and wonder how many of them are from the site?
Just wondering. (If I see ya I would like to say hi to a sly bro)
Live on the Illinois/Wisconsin line, about 1/2 hour east of Rockford, but teach in the far north suburbs. Bar always open for another sly brother.
Hovered around the Illinois/Wisconsin border(always near Chicago) most of my life...
Chicago is the best city in the USA for a number of different reasons.
1.The Music.
2.The Nightlife.
3.The Culture
4. The Skate Scene
5.Alkaline Trio
6.The Food.
7.The Weather.
Some people arent fond of the brutal Chicago winters but I love them. After spending 3 straight years in a climate where it rarely dropped below 50degrees,it was wonderful to leave the O'Hare terminal and smoke a cigarette in the 10degree Windy City air.
Yeah, the winter months can be brutal here, but it makes us appreciate the spring, summer, and fall more!!
I'm up in the far north burbs... but at least I have a one-suburb buffer between me and the cheeseheads!!

Yeah, and too many people complain about the winters that don't know what they are talking about. We do have things called heaters in the Chicagoland area...in our homes, cars, work, etc...
Shouldn't have said that, now everyone will want to move near to Chicago...didn't mean to let our secret slip out...
I'll take a Chicago winter any day over perpetual moderate to hot humid weather.
When you hear everyone around you moan and whine about how "freezing" it is when its 50degrees you cant help but smile to yourself.
Kind of Sly like.

Yep! Lived in Fort Lauderdale for a few years before moving to Denver.
Two seasons in S. Florida....hot and HOTTER.......when it dips below 70* everybody grabs their winter coats.
Now love four seasons, man....as soon as yer tired of one...the next one's right around the corner.
Like B.Rob alluded to....the change of seasons is cool.
