I have always wanted to hunt but in reality I am not much of an outdoor's man. although I truely love wild meat. I am glad that you don't let it go to waste, donating it to a family is a truly nice thing to do. I presonally wish I knew a hunter in canada that didn't like to eat the meat that much because I would truely love to have a deer in my freezer

Many programs to help those in real need of meat that are on public assistance. It's great you have programs in your area that allow such donations. In my deer wreck of 2005, I called the sheriff's department to come pick up the deer; at one time they used it at the correctional facility to supplement their meat budget. I was told they could no longer use any meats that were not slaughtered and processed to USDA standards (and apparently a Jeep d/n meet such); an inmate had filed a formal complaint about being served "roadkill". A charity would be your best bet
