Thinking of shaving hair short

What's up guys!

New here, and looking for advice.
I'm thinking of shaving my hair really short.  Starting to go bald on top.
What do you guys think?
Here are some old picture I found with short hair that I took.
I personally think my head looks really big or my forehead does from a side profile view.
You guys think I could pull it off?
I'm pretty self conscious about the shape of my head.
The one is an old photo from the military.

I don't see where you are going bald, unless that's an older picture. But as far as shaving, many guys, thinning or not, shave their head just to see if they like it, and most keep it. Give it a try, if you don't like it, you should be back to where you are now in a couple of weeks or so. Welcome aboard, and thanks for your service!

I agree with sir harry, I really don't see a balding man in that photo (nothing unusual there, we tend to be our own worse critics), there is nothing wrong with the shape of your head (once again, own worse critic) of course a full head of hair doesn't preclude anyone from shaving their head, I'm not really someone that enjoys the head shaving time but many here do. If you have kept your hair short like the military hair cut, if you don't like it, it wont take long to grow back. Though the common option by guys here is to try the 30 day rule

BBC is A good choice. Just enjoy the smooth fresh look and feel of a bald head whether hair is thinning or not.

You will look great with short buzz and later with shave.  At you age I wanted very short hair and kept it buzzed short eventually going to a shave.  Initially wasn't thinning.

Perfectly shaped head. If you want to try it, go for it. You're talking to alot of guys here that love shaving their heads. Completely accepted hairstyle now!

You still have enough hair to have options.  But, if you want to give it a try, just do it.  It will grow back.

Most guys think their head shape will be odd if shaved.  Truth is, we all have odd shapes on our heads.  Just like any other body feature, we are not all the same.

I started shaving at the first sign of thinning to get ahead of it, and now 5 years later, I have very little hair on top to shave.

I agree with everyone else:
1. You have a perfectly good head shape
2.  You have plenty of hair left and do not "have" to shave

Having said that; many of us here are Bald By Choice (BBC).  A shaved head is just another hairstyle, (although it is a really cool, and very masculine style!).

Since you are curious I would guess that you have already realized that you like the style when you see it on others so why not go for it yourself?  A shaved head is a very aggressive and masculine style - so wear it with pride.  People will pick up on that.

The only caveat that we all agree on is that you should stick to the 30 day rule.  It takes time for your brain to get used to seeing a different guy in the mirror - so if you do it - commit to keeping it shaved for 30 days before you make up your mind as to whether or not to go back to being hairy!

Your head shape looks fine to me, so I think you're fine to go with a short buzz or shave.
