Reducing shine

Hey everyone, I was wondering what you guys use as a mattify-er, as my head seems to be ridiculously shiny. I've used the headblade matte, and headblade spf both to minimal avail. I've even tried "Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturizer," and it doesn't seem to have that much of a matte effect. The previously mentioned products definitely do dull the shine a little, but it doesn't seem to do it all that noticeably, or at least to a point where light isn't reflecting off my dome like a lighthouse. Also does anyone do anything mid day to keep shine down? Thanks!

Kinda the opposite to me, I love the shine.

To me, the shine is the ultimate of the bald head. Being BBC, it's harder to get a nice highly reflective shine. I admire the guys who are naturally bald and have a mirror shine on top.
Head Lube Glossy helps, along with a very close shave.
(A bit of a joke), I wonder if you rubbed your head with coarse sandpaper every day if it would reduce the shine.
I like the shine. It's the hallmark of a bald guy.

Why???
But if you must, if you are a morning shaver, you my try a night shave. I find the shine typically wears off after about 8 hours. But everybody has different skin, so you will have to find what works for you.

I love the shine, can't imagine why you'd want to reduce it.

Haha, well it seems as though we have a consensus. If I were to take this as a sample, it seems as though bald guys like the shininess that comes with a shaved dome. The reason I don't like it personally is that it seems overwhelmingly distracting to me, as if your head wishes to blind everyone in the surrounding area, I'd rather my head be subtle, less blinding to passerby, and the shininess not being the only thing I notice when looking in a mirror. Someone's gotta have some advice for dulling the shine, please let me in on your secrets.

I've always used baby powder. You could also use rubbing alcohol, but you run the risk of a dry scalp with that.

If you use aftershave, try some Pinaud Clubman Original. It finishes with a "powdery" feel that I really enjoy. It's also got that old timey barbershop scent.

I prefer the matt look as well, and I have oily skin on my noggin, only thing that works is an alum block, keeps me bone dry all day. Apart from soothing nicks and cuts it's also a natural deodorant, I tried it out instead of my usual under arm, stayed dry all day, awesome stuff and cheap on eBay or Amazon.

Good find that! Never tried to reduce shine. My head can be very oily too.

Thanks for the input, I was wondering if you had a preferred alum block that you used? And do you use that in conjunction with any sort of sunscreen product for your head?

I use a daily face wash throughout the day like oil of Olay shine away. Great product for eliminating the shine

The best thing about a bald head is the shine.
If you think it's too much maybe because you have an oily skin.
Get an aftershave or facewashe for oily skin or try baby powder.
