New Sly Guy In Town
« on: August 15, 2007, 09:36:33 AM »
Hi Everyone,

My name is Chase and I just shaved my head a few days ago.....and I am loving it! A few months back I had noticed that my hair was thinning out so I had my friend shave it then.....Well, that didn't work out to well. Lots of razor bumps and lots of cuts....I hated it, so I let it grow back out. I was never happy though, and all my friends told me that I had looked good with a shaved head, so I went Sly once again....But this time I went and bought a headblade and did it myself....Damn that thing is amazing! I didnt cut myself once(I have the sport). The only problem I have is the bumps. They look like they are starting to go away the more I shave, but if you guys have any suggestions feel free to share! I am using Bald Guyz moisturizer and it seems to be helping some. But yeah my confidence is back so I might start talking to girls again! lol. And I think I look like a hardcore metalhead(which I am, I also play guitar). Anyways thanks for this wonderful site...And just know.....

There is a new Sly Brother amoung you.

Chase

Welcome, Chase !

Stick around and join the fun, man

As far as the bumps...make sure you are doing a "full" routine....i.e. not just slappin' shaving cream up there and going at it.

Here's an article that helped me:

Also there is a thread here that discusses everone's routine:

Welcome to the Slyest Town around. I've found the best way to keep the bumps away is to keep a clean dome. Find an exfoliator you like and use it a few times a week. I use mine right before I shave.

You have questions, we have answers!!!!!!

Welcome Chase, glad to have you with us.  I too had a problem with bumps when I first started being sly.  Try the Bald Guyz moisturing gel after shaving.  Eliminated all bumps for me.

Hiya Chase, welcome to SBG's
I don't have any problem with bumps   :D

Hey Chase, welcome to Sly Bald Guys!! The links Robmiester posted are good.  Also, try a different blade on your headblade, or a different type of cream or gel.  You should also try rinsing with really cold water after your shave to see if that helps.
