Peladophobia???

I'm reading an article in the New York Times today about a fella who can't swim and is deathly afraid of the water. The author mentions a number of common phobias and then mentions peladophobia ... a fear of bald people! Seriously, have you ever heard of this?
So far, my big, shiny bald head has not elicited any shrieks of terror ... a couple of chuckles perhaps, but to my knowledge, no one has run away from me due to my baldness.

That's a new one on me, too. I think if I had it I'd probably be too embarrassed to ever admit it.

But really, who the heck is afraid of bald people?
I googled it and apparently there are symptoms: anxiety, a feeling of dread, shortness of breath, sweating, dry mouth, nausea, fear of dying, heart palpitations, and shaking. LOL.

As long as you have a big glass of milk, what's to fear?

Mike, you don't strike fear in me....nice head tan, BTW....On a side note the over/under of our philosopher friend Blitzed giving his take on this thread is about the next 3.5 posts if you know what I mean.

I have actually seen people dodge me before. Then again, I usually walk around with an annoyed look on my face.

Hi Mike: Wow... I did not know that such a thing can occur. I think that these people are strictly judging people by their physical appearance. Oh well, that is their lost not mine but thanks for sharing.

A fear of bald people that's absurd. Now some phobias are legit like say oh I don't know let's go with the fear of birds (some will understand) now that's reasonable. But fear of the dome uh no......unless it is accompanied by a really smokin' skullet.
