I have the same issue, so I shave with my Remington electric before my shower, the I run over it in the shower with a blade. For the last few weeks I have used a DE razor in front of a mirror though. I take my time as the blade s are very sharp.

I'm a daily shaver and I push the skin the opposite direction that I'm shaving to get the closest shave. It works very well. For instance, if you're shaving downward, push the skin up and hold it while you're shaving.

I noticed when the hair has a few days of growth shorter choppy strokes work better but when the hair is short and you're sHaving every day try long gentle strokes.
just make sure you keep the water really hot and massage your head if you feel like you're Prepping too long you're probably not doing it long enough

Domes Day, hair professionals train as hair stylists or as barbers. Correspondingly, they work at hair salons and barber shops. You'd never persuade a hair stylist to shave your face, either. And you wouldn't find someone to cut your hair and wax your chest. Find a barber shop. The dozens of barbershops in my city all offer full head shaves with a straight razor.

I think Domes Day is spamming the forums! All his replies so far are the same!

I'm a nightly shaver, most of the time I do cold shaves (cold water, cold lather, cold razor (just tap water cold)) - on my head and face it seems that the cold makes the hair stand up better than doing a hot shave.
As always, YMMV....

You make compelling observations Steeltoe. I copy from some of what I have written in another topic….
The hairy heads get best services because the stylists are always challenging new frontiers of things to offer improvements. But for us, we embrace our pride and are proud to improve what we can do to ourselves which is fine, btw.
The reason why we don’t have eye that could see the back of our heads is because we are made to need each other to see it, but not both at the same time! Barbers and hair salons thrived because of this fact. They all offer “cut and blow dry”.
There are all kinds of people. My vision is that all barbers and hair salons should offer “Wet Shaved Dome” along side of “cut and blow dry”. We would then have the benefit of pros who’d make it their career to explore into the best products, ingredients, shave techniques and after care methods for our shaved dome.
There will be thing that we can never change in our lifetime. We can make a difference in the way we do things though. Will you or people you know join me? There are better ways to put the message across, this link is just what my brain can achieve up to now....

I agree with trying the cold water. I sometimes have very good results with cold water. It might also help to try a DE razor. They don't pull the hair out prior to cutting, so in my experience it's easier to shave daily with them. The other thing is don't go ATG if it is uncomfortable. I've gotten to where I can get comfortable DFS daily with a DE razor. I do a 3 pass shave WTG, XTG, GTX. On both XTG passes, I actually take them at an angle that makes them just a tiny bit ATG as well.

GreatnessInc, not quite sure what you mean. Please can you just expand a bit more on what you've said. Thanks.

I would go to a shop for a headshave if the barbers were all head shaved.

I can feel that it’s the right thing to trust shaved dome barbers to do your dome, but what’s in your mind is its not that?
