hey there
« on: June 12, 2014, 09:40:10 PM »
hey guys.

I would like to be BBC. for the past few years i've buzzed my head during the summer. i've loved the way it looks every time. but, since i'm still younger and with my parents, my mother has insisted i grow it back. this summer i'd like to keep it buzzed at a no guard like usual. I would also like to shave it off eventually.

i still run into the problem with my mom though. she absolutely hates the way i look without hair.
I love the look and the feel of the bald head, and i would like to keep it starting this summer, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen yet.

Anyways, i'll be in and out of having the buzz cut, and look forward to posting here.

Welcome, Sly Drummer! Based on what you have posted, I'm guessing that you are not 18 years of age.....If that is the case, you don't have much choice but to obey your parents' wishes until you become of age and/or move out. But if it's nagging you to go sly, maybe you could ask your mom to let you try it one time for charity (i.e. St. Baldricks). By the way, not all of our members shave, we have plenty of members who do the buzz. Thanks for joining!

Welcome Sly Drummer!!

Welcome aboard! I also did a lot of buzzcuts before I went completely bald. I've found, from the people I know, that once you have a short buzz, they don't make a really big deal about going smooth. From what I can tell, they think of you as "bald" already, so when you make the jump to shaving it with a razor, it's more of a big deal for you than for other people. You could always get your family used to the buzzed look over the summer and then one day just go sly.

By the way, I'm 22 and BBC. Let me know if you ever want to chat.

I had the same issue as you in respect to opinion of mother.  When I went away to college I got a short buzz and kept it way since until finally shaved.

It's funny how the different generations react, when I was a teenager (1970s) my parents hated my long hair.  These days, I'm a parent and I've tried to get my son to let his grow out at least once in his life.  Nope.  He likes a #2 all the way around.
