In a lot of the posts that I read on this forum,a lot of you encourage people to just shave it all off.Why?In my opinion,a short buzz cut would look better on most people.I buzzed to a #1 a few weeks ago,then to a # 1/2(which is 1/16") and then I ordered a Wahl balding trimmer which I love.It seems to be much easier than a razor shave and gives almost the same appearance but,in my opinion,it is a better look.I wouldn't want to take the time to shave every morning and wouldn't really have the time.So,where am I going wrong here?Also,I love the feel of my buzzed head.I can't stop rubbing it.lol.
    I'm not trying to put down anyone who prefers the totally shaved look.I have several coworkers who shave their heads every morning.Seems like a hassle to me.I'm just really having a little fun with all of you.I do love my new look though.That wahl balding clipper does a great job and with my goatee,I've had a lot of compliments on my new look.My hair had become very thin with a bad receding hairline and something had to be done.I guess that I'm just not ready to go all the way.

Its a big decision that I battled with for years.  I went to a crew cut, then a buzz cut, shortened the buzz cut down to a 00 and then kept that for a while until I got used to the practically bald look.  Then I bit the bullet and shaved it completely.  Havent looked back and i love it!  Its very easy to maintain once you get used to it.

Nothing wrong with a clipper shave and a lot of guys do that.  For most of us blade shavers, we like the smooth that you cannot get with clippers, and depending on the hair color, the shadow may completely disappear with a blade.  But some guys like the shadow.  Some guys like the shin, some don't.

Also, once you learn the technique, the time it takes to razor shave in the shower is close to the time for a clipper shave.

I buzzed my hair for years and really liked the look. The more I balded and receded, the shorter I went. However, my recession got to the point that it was asymmetrical and I was tired of seeing it. After hanging around this site, I decided to shave and it has been great.

Like you, I don't want to take the time to shave every day. So I shave twice a week. On those two days, I take my time and enjoy the process. So I am nice and smooth two days and have various degrees of stubble the rest of the week and I like that look for me, too.

Like RazorX I found it easier to shave my head than maintain a good 'balding look'. Eac h to his own but after 10 years I prefer the shaved dome.

I know one thing,I'm starting to notice every one I see hairstyles.There are lots of men out there with very short buzz cuts or totally shaved.I've never given it much thought until now.It's really no big deal in our day and time.

WHY I SHAVE MY HEAD
 
   On May 20, 2004, my first wife gave me a buzz cut.  Since then, I either have had a buzz cut or a shaved head.
 
   Since then, I would go to the barber shop every month or two to have my head shaved.  Now, I use a good razor, such as a Schick Fusion Proglide razor, and shave my head down to the skin every few days.
 
   Now, every morning after I take a shower, my head dries on the spot without the need to use a blow drier to dry my hair.  This means less time is needed to prepare for the day.  In my house, there is no electrical outlet in the bathroom and only one in my bedroom, which is already taken up by a lamp and a clock radio.  Both items need to be plugged into this outlet all the time.
 
   To protect my shaved head, except on formal occasions, I always wear a baseball cap.  My wife, Angie, likes me with a shaved head.  Finally, I feel that life is much easier for me with a shaved head, therefore, I am bald by choice.

P. S. I same time and money by shaving my head - No more wasted time blow drying hair or money wasted on trips to the barber shop.  I use a store-brand (CVS, Rite Aid, etc) razor to shave my face and head every day and use the same razor repeatedly until it's no longer good.  Finally, I can buy a good baseball cap for around $10.00, which lasts forever.

I've used the Wahl balding trimmer with and without the 1/2 guard.I think I prefer the 1/2 guard which is 1/16".Without the guard,my head gets cut and irritated.I 'me not wanting the totally sly look yet but I'm close.I like what I have so far.
