Hey mate, thank you so much for your comments encouraging me

Now I think also my buzzcut looked good, although I wasn't sure as my friends suggested me to grow hairs back. Yes, there were people who didn't like my buzzcut, but also people who asked me afterwards why I had grown it back! They praised the good shape of my head and said how sexy my buzzcut was. But it was too late. It was too difficult for me to go back smooth again after the full of hairs had grown up... I'll never listen to all of negative comments more, and I'll hear only comments supporting and encouraging my motivation when I shave my hair down in a couple of months

Welcome Nicolaus ... it's "only" hair. Do as you want it to be. Friends may say they don't like it only because it is a change and they worry it will change you. Be true to yourself.

Hi Nikolaus,
I am also from Germany. I shaved a few times over the last few years. But since January I shave daily - and I love it. I do it just for the look and the feel. I am not balding that badly. Shaving my head (and growing a beard) was the best fashion choice I have ever made. Do it if you want to. Don't let other people tell you it looks bad. Some will. My boyfriend and my mother keep complaining. In the past this stopped me. But not this time. So do what you want!

About 20 years ago, I took a vacation to L.A. for a week, and the first thing I did was go to an old-fashioned barber shop and get it all taken off, wet shaved, completely gone. It was a big shock to see myself in the mirror, but by the end of the week I liked it, and I was used to it, so I didn't feel self-conscious when I came back home. Today, no one can imagine me with hair, especially me.

Welcome, Nicolaus. You look good clipped down, and you'll look about the same--but FEEL a lot better--totally shaved. Keep us posted.

Welcome to SBG Nicolaus! Hopefully by now, with a great board to voice your thoughts and get ideas - you're already rubbing that beautiful smooth skull and smiling as you read this.
The short hair looks great on you but nothing beats the smoothness of a shaved dome.

Thank you, all mates who wrote me so many encouragement and welcoming. I had before often imagined to have a completely smooth bald head, but not so concretely. It had been always fantasy. But since I came into this forum, my image's been quickly getting more and more concrete. Now I have a specific plan. When, how and in which barbershop (I'd like to have the head shaved by a professional barber at first.) I'll become a real sly. Actually I want to realize it just now, but I should wait a little. The next summer vacation is absolutely the best timing for me to do a big changing.

Nicolaus,
You will not regret it man! Trust me. You will look great and rock it!! You look good with the zero buzz and sunglasses but sly will be much better. I know the anxiety that you're feeling because I was in those same shoes a couple of days ago. When you decide to become sly, your confidence will increase significantly. I love looking at myself after getting dressed with my head shaved. It's hard to describe the feeling but it's AWESOME to say the least. I have been approached by people differently but in a good way since I went sly. It is one of the best decisions I have made in my 28 years of being on Earth. The way I look being sly gives me motivation to better myself physically.

I wonder if he will make it to summer vacation, or will he jump the gun and just go for it?

Hey AJ Q-Ball, thank you for your posting. Yes, of course I trust you. Your story gives me courage. Everyone on this board who had worried before deciding to do it found somehow, but absolutely the way to live happily as a sly. I also will carry out to do it

mrzed, don't rash me! I also want to go for it just now, but must do it carefully to succeed my big changing smoothly.

No rush. I just remember that I set a date and jumped the gun myself, and so have a number of other guys on this site. Take your time, but as you get closer to your 'date' you may find you just want to go ahead with it now instead of waiting, as planned.
Yep, the first days can create a little anxiety. You don't know what others will think, and your new looks take awhile for you to get used to it. But as the guys here will testify, shaving your head is a boost and the negative comments, if any, don't last.

Anxiety is a part of life, so is anticipation!

When I got an incredibly close buzz (from a barber) I realized how close I *really* was to being bald and the razor did the rest for me! Now, I can't imagine ever going back to the buzzed look, even though I really liked the feel of short hair. Smooth rules!
Nicolaus, go at the pace you want/need and you'll get there. I was really anxious the first few days, I needed to learn the art of the shave and step it up to a new level. Now I feel like an "old hand" and I don't even think about it anymore, I just roll and let everyone decide for themselves whatever they want to decide. Good luck!

You look really great. Haven't seen you with hair but I like the way you look.
I'm trying to get the balls to shave mine.
