How do I know when to put in a new blade to shave my head? How many head shaves can I get from one blade? Thanks.

I hate to phase a response this way, but it really does depend upon the man using the blades.
I change my Fusion cartridge every Sunday morning after having used it at least once a day for the entire week.
And welcome to the board, sir!

WELCOME V.J!!,I also use the Fusion pro and by shaving head on a daily bases I change out every 5 days and soak cartridge in baby oil after every use.... You'll find lots of ideas and routines on this forum that will help you out.

Welcome, Victor! I usually use a safety razor and soak the blade in baby oil after each use. But as far as the multi-blade razors, most of them come with a color stripe that usually fades when the blade is getting too old to use. If you have to make more than two passes to get the desired result, that's a good sign you need to change the blade. Good luck!

I also get 7-8 uses out of a fusion blade.

I got something like 5 from the fusion. The strip wears off on the first shave but the blade is usually still pretty sharp until the 5th shave. Its probably because I haven't started a daily shaving routine i guess

Like some others I change cartridge every Sunday morning - more as habit to change. Shave daily Magnum M5.

I use a Magnum M5 and go 10 days per cartridge. I was going two weeks, but recently cut back to 10 days. That is with daily head shaving and no face shaving. I admit I am cheap, so I try to make them last, as long as I can get a comfortable shave. Plus it is easy to remember, I change the blade on the first, 10th, and 20th of the month.

As long you are satisfied with the shave (each to his own taste), why change it on a rigid schedule?
Some guys have thick, coarse hair (and a lot of it); others have thin, receded hair. No strict blade regime will satisfy both.
"Listen to your head." It's only hair.

The strip on the fusion is there to be totally ignored!! Change it when 'you' feel it is time!

With my Fusion I was changing every Sunday with daily head and face shaving. With my ATX I still go about a week but minus face shaving... trying to grow a beard currently LOL But it seems like the ATX blades get dull quicker..

I use 2 different DE safety razors, one for my head and the other for my face. I change the face razor after every 7 shaves, while the head razor gets a new blade after 3 shaves.

I'd say when the lubricating strip wears off or you feel your not getting a good shave razor becoming old change the blade.

I am on my 15th shave using a Gillette Atra Plus Blade in a Headblade razor. Looks like the latest shave is not quite as close as the early uses. Guess I have my answer. need to change it.
