Nice sunny day here in North Carolina, on the day before Christmas.
Church services was at 4 p.m. Readings and carols. I took my spot at the piano and Velma at the organ. All of my adult girls are home for Christmas so they came with.
After church we prepped finger foods, sausages, cheeses, crackers, fruit, cookies, and such. Took it down the street the street to the home of a shut-in couple. They just don't get out at all, and don't have much family in the area. We sat around. Talked, ate. Sang Silent Night. I read the Christmas story.
Now at home, we finish trimming the tree. The lights are on, but no decorations, yet. I'll be up early in the morning to finish wrapping packages.
Merry Christmas to you all.
(How about your Christmas traditions or activities).

This year my heart has been full of the Spirit of Christmas.
This morning I put on the Santa suit, pulled the Harley out of the garage, dropped my Christmas candy basket into the tour-pak, and drove the Bike (28 degrees!) into town.
I visited all the local businesses, unannounced, and offered Christmas candy to customers and employees. My visits were unannounced and a surprise to all. Just spreading around a little last minute Christmas Spirit.
Peace and Joy to each of you--
Merry Christmas

As I write this it's 19 degrees in PA and it had been lightly snowing off on throughout the day. I was day dreaming about vacationing somewhere hot.
Got some last minute shopping in and finished the day wrapping. Tomorrow is when the fun begins. I get to spend it with my gf and my family. I see the smiles on the faces of my niece and nephew as they open their presents. This truly makes my Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas to all SBG members and their families!
I got together with my family (Dad's side) last night at IHOP....(We normally get together on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at one of the Casinos, but finances would not permit it this year). I worked until 6:30pm last night, but thankfully, I finished my Christmas shopping over the weekend. It is 36 degrees here in S.E. Louisiana but our weather here tends to be like a yo-yo. Today I will visit with Mom's side of the family and exchange gifts. Once that's done it's going to be all about me, me, me until I return to work on January 2

(just kidding)

I still need to re-size the picture. My daughter made me a scarf that says SLY GUY. one word per end of the scarf. Put my head in between and it is SLY-BALD-GUY.
Will post a picture later today.
Now there is a gift for a bald guy!

It was a slightly unusual Christmas, because my family situation is in a flux. I went to 10:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service (with post-Eucharist reception, it ended after midnight, which is the way I like to welcome Christmas), then, atypically, also went to 10:00 Christmas Day service. Afterwards, I had lunch with my mother, who is in assisted living. She is no longer in good enough health to join the rest of us for eating out. I went over to a friend's house to exchange Christmas presents. We were going to have dinner with my nephew and his fiancee, but both of them (they are security guards) had to work today! So, my sister, brother, and sister-in-law had take-out Chinese food and exchanged our gifts. This broke my usual Christmas routine, but it was good for me. My office is closed (with pay) until January 2, so now I get some "me" time. Merry Christmas, everyone!
P.S.: A year ago, I was still "planning" to go sly. I have been sly since September 26 and plan to start the new year with a clean, shiny bald scalp.

We visited with the other two guys in my men's group and their families for dinner tonight. Then played Qwirkle. Fun game. Worth checking out. Even those who don't generally like to play games, seem to enjoy this.

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas.
We started it off in the most "wonderful" way possible: a death threat made against my wife on Christmas eve. It had to do with her profession. Both of us have had these threats made against us in the course of our respective jobs, but this guy called her assistant at work and made the threat to not only kill her, but to track her down and burn down the house as well. He was very clear that it was, in fact, a real death threat he was making. We took it very seriously. Police at the house, kids shipped off to Grandma's, lots of "fun" for a few hours. He did not appear to carry out the threat, but you bet charges are being filed.
Christmas day was blissfully uneventful in comparison. We are hosting my wife's family at our house tonight. Still debating whether to do ham or brisket.
