Still wishing I had done this sooner.

Last night I went to a formal, annual event with my wife. These are people I see maybe once a year, so most had not seen me since I took off the horseshoe.
I was not recognized by many of them except for the fact that I was standing next to my wife whom they knew. Almost everyone thought I looked ten to fifteen years younger.
For the first time in the ten or so years we have been going to this thing, I actually enjoyed it.

Isn't it great that the sly look is so widely accepted now! Who ever thought that being bald would make you look younger. that surely is true when you are grey like me.

Everyone says the same thing, including me. Should have done it sooner.. Hopefully the newcomers and fence-dwellers will learn from stories like this. Congrats.

It's great when you get the compliments and admiration, isn't it?
In one word... priceless!

I agree... I should have done this sooner too!
Congrats Cave!

Awesome!!! Glad to hear it.
I'm enjoying the sly lifestyle as well. What I'm most upset about is that I hid under my hat for so long due to my younger age.

I had one of those horseshoes, cropped close. One thing about those horseshoes..... they NEVER look good.

I was getting the horseshoe and started wearing a cap to hide it. Then started buzzing it short, I liked that for a few months but finally just shaved it off and yes my first thought was should've done it sooner.

I wasn't able to be on much in August, so I missed this thread. Cave Dweller, that was a great story. I am imagining that people were gossiping about who your wife was with that night, until they found out it was you!!! priceless

Love the little story, Cave Dweller. It's pretty true, though. After I had my head shaved the first time, folks that hadn't seen me for a while hardly recognized me to begin with..... then most folks gave admiring comments, however, there were the odd few that just seemed to try and avoid me for some odd reason.....
I said to most folks that asked me why I did it, that I wish I had my head shaved a lot sooner..... A lot of folks were surprised at that answer.
