Hello all

Quite clearly new but not bald (yet), hopefully I'll be able to gain the confidence to do the deed if I ever choose to by being on here

Welcome to the forum, Calum

Sounds like you are seriously thinking of shaving your head. If you want the final 'push', then you have come to the right place for some encouragement.

Bald in the UK must be pretty popular. There are quite a few guys on here from the UK that shave their heads.

Bald IS beautiful and it feels good.

I like the feel of light rain on my bald head.  Summer and winter. I like the warm feel of the sun on my bald head as I walk from the office to the lunch room (if you're out for any length of time, use sun screen).

Let me encourage you to just do it.  You'll wonder why you waited so long.

Funny you should mention this, Mr Zed.

Noticed this, too. Particularly when I was on a recent holiday to South West England. Also beards are making a welcome return.

On my last visit to the barbers, they recognised me from the SBG forum. SBG is here in the UK.

Be interesting to see what the international make up is of the forum.

I wonder if the unusually high temperatures in the uk have pushed people into making a bald choice

It did for me. I decided that mucking about in the morning with gels and combs was just getting annoying. Then later in the day with temperatures around 30 I just felt all sticky and hot.

To the barber. Take it all off mate number 0 all over. Aaaahh that's better.

Then later I thought hey I'm nearly there why not try bald. Gave a go and haven't looked back. Just ilooked n the mirror a lot.

Two and a half weeks into my 30 days. Not wavered once and feeling great. I too like the feel of rain on a newly shaved head and I love a cool morning breeze on my head when I leave the house in the morning.

You may be right, Gadgetwizard.

Having a bald head is an excellent way to dissipate the heat. Especially, if you have a bigger beard, too.
