Help me decide on a new cartridge for my HeadBlade

I've been using my HeadBlade for about 4 years and have always loved it. Recently, cartridges for it have become harder and harder to come by locally. I've been purchasing them at WalGreen's for the last couple years. I've always bought the triples at about $8 for a package of 4.
I've visited Walgreen's twice in recent weeks and it now appears they are only carrying the four blade HedaBlade cartridges.... at $14 for a package of 4. No thank you at that price.
So I've tried using a couple different cartridges using the black HeadBlade adapter. No matter which cartridge I tried, it was a nightmare. A lot of cuts and nicks. The black adapter seems to be stiffer than the yellow adapter and that just isn't working for me.
So I need some suggestions on cartridges that will work with the yellow adapter.

Mike,
I've always used Gillette Atra knock offs (with the lubricating strip). I've found them on Ebay for about $0.50 a blade.

I've also used the Atra generics (Wilkinson Sword) from WalMart with great success. Have you tried the Gillette Sensor doubles on the black adapter? That's what I am using at the moment.

I'd like to find a triple. The doubles don't work as well for me.

I'm in the same boat!
Love the HB3s in the ATX, but cannot get them local anymore, tried Atra and cut the crap out of myself
I bit the bullet and ordered the 5 pack from HB, with the SBG discount it came in around $35 shipped
Ordered on Friday got them yesterday

Hey Mike, have you tried the Gillette sensor excel triples with the black adapter? They are usually available locally and you can find great deals online.

I'm curious about these adapters people are speaking of...is it possible to use these adapters on Headblades with other blades like the Mach 3 or Hydro 5?

Hey Mike, have you tried the Gillette sensor excel triples with the black adapter?
This is exactly the combo which I have been using for the last year. So far, so happy.

I buy mine at Walgreens. They are pretty much the only store in my area that sells them anymore. But they're great. I've stuck with this blade for the majority of the seven years that I've been shaving. Bit pricey, but oh well.

Mike,
I don't know about in your area, but I saw some at Family Dollar and Dollar General....My cousin said he saw some at Dollar Tree. If any of these stores are in your area, check them out and see.

I found some last night in Target. They were actually a pack of four disposables but they fit the black adapter just fine.

The HB4's cost more because they last much longer than the triples. I can get a month sometimes a little more out of an HB4 cart. I'd barely get a week out of the triples.

Dump the cartridge and move up to DE's. Your wallet will thank you.
