The Honeymoon is over

Yesterday, July 1st, was my seven month anniversary. Yeah, not that big a deal.
Today, though, I noticed that the shaved areas no longer have that hypersensitivity they had on January 1st. They felt just like the dome that has been bald for twenty years. The coloring is almost uniform as well.
Finally!

Congrats - you hit the "crossover point" where your scalp has adjusted to slyness and it seems perfectly normal! Feels great, doesn't it?

Whew!
Based on the title of the thread, I thought this was bad news.
Glad it's working for ya!

Well done. Let me just say you have one of the best bald head pics here. Wish my head is like that. (bald head envy)

At SBG we love anniversaries. 1 month, 7 months, 1 year, 18 months. All are worth celebrating!
Good conversion to SLY. Looks good. I'm sure you're now at the point where the sandpaper feel of a few days of hair is unwelcome and the smooth dome is a daily delight.
Thanks for sharing your moment.

Actually, I became a full convert to Sly the minute I finished the first shave on January 1. I have skipped shaving only one day since then.
Smooth just feels too good.

Oh that's interesting.
Are you saying that there is an adjustment period where your head shall we say adjusts to being bald and the shave?
I didn't realise that.
After nearly two weeks my tan line is fading and I'm getting a more even colour which I knew would happen. I already hate one days growth and I'm shaving every day now.
The adjustment is like a metamorphosis a bolder stronger cleaner smarter person emerging.

Gadget, I would say, YES. It's getting hard to think back that far, now, but the scalp was tender at first, but now handles the daily shave with anticipation.
I have a buddy who only shaves his head twice a week. Been a year. He still complains of nicking himself. Either he's just rushing things, or twice a week is not enough to develop the complete metamorphosis. Just a thought.
BTW, instill after 19 months find myself a bit taken back by the bald guy on the mirror. Looks nice, but is it really me? Pinch myself. Yes, that's me.

I tend to find that I get a little more irritation in the back/sides where the hair is thicker, if it has been a couple of days since going smooth. The razor tends to 'jump' and I have to go over the areas several times to get it smooth.
Usually I find that once I go over with an ice cube/cold water it will zing a little bit. After that some lotion and it's feeling fine and then some aftershave.
So far, that's it *knocks on wood* - it is officially 30 days for me since I came back to my senses!!
