Hi all,
I found this forum today after shaving my head for the first time. I've kept my hair relatively short (clippers with a #2 or #3 guard) for the last few years, gradually going shorter until I decided to just do it myself and go no guard about 6 months ago. I turn 25 this summer, but I've been rapidly losing coverage on top since about 22. Even a few days after cutting it, it's noticeably thicker on the sides. I've never even entertained any kind of "hair treatment/replacement" and alternative measures (e.g., comb-overs) seemed to me to just be dodging the issue. So, after a quick review of some tips, I decided to just grab a razor and go for it:

Excuse the aimless growth on my face; work schedule's been kind of crazy and I've neglected it--I'm a graduate student working on my Ph.D., so I've barricaded myself in my apartment reading research literature for the last week. I've considered growing it out into...something, but it grows in very patchy and itches like crazy. I should have some job interviews coming up, so I'll probably get rid of it soon.
This forum seems to be populated by a cool bunch, and looks like a great resource and community.
