Hi, everyone,
This is a great community! Thanks for having made it exist.
I'm a bald guy from France. To make a long story short, I would say that I was gradually becoming bald towards my early 30's (now I'm 35). I did not like that at all. So, last summer I just shaved my head bald (but kept my beard).
At first, it was to hide my hair loss. Now I must admit that I love the style and it has improved my relationship with others : I think I have changed and have become more confident - more myself. It is strange how a change in physical appearance creates an inner shift.
See you somewhere on the forum...
Focus.

Malheureusement, je ne connais pas Vendée. Mais, j'ai visité Bretagne ... en vélo par Rennes et Redon ! Beacoup de cidre, bien sur.
Vous écrivez bon Anglais. Avez-vous visité Grande Bretagne ?

Shaved head and beard is the way to go - but then I am biased.
As a visitor from Oz France is probably my favourite country.

Thank you, everyone.
To Mr Jules : I have visited Great Britain - especially Scotland.
And I have spent 3 months in Ireland. I was working in a bakery in Dublin.
If I have a good written English, it is because I read a lot of self development books and the best ones are American and not translated into French.

Hello Focus, welcome to the group!
Agree with you totally about how outward appearance and your own feeling of self worth are connected. Self image is a very powerful thing. :-)

Thank you again.
While I was writing about this self image I was thinking about an aesthetic surgeon - Maxwell Mountz - who realized people who modified their faces tended to develop a personnality which fitted their new appearance.
And he has developped a concept in which he suggests to consciously develop oneself and learn to reach one's goals without the need for outward changes. The book is "Psychocybernetics". An interesting read.
See you

I do believe that guys, particularly younger who shave their heads have greater feeling of self confidence.

Foocus,
Welcome to SLy Bald Guys. so glad that you took the plunge and shaved your head but kept your beard. SO glad that it was a great experience for you. Looking forward to seeing a picture.
Enjoy your new found freedom and enjoy your great smooth sly dome. I sure enjoy the sly look and the self confidence it helped me to develop.
