Hello everyone! I've come across this site and find it really great. I always liked the sly look on the others but never tried it myself. I'm extremely shy and afraid of possible disapproval of friends and family (though I understand it's stupid to think so). I noticed I started losing hair after taking antibiotics. Does it look really bad? Do you think it's time for me to try the sly look and build up some courage? I'll be grateful for any advice. Sorry for possible mistakes (I'm not a native English speaker, I'm Ukrainian).

Welcome to the club, Ihor. Your hair doesn't look bad the way it is. And your English is fine. If you want to try the sly look just go for it. Ultimately, the only person who has to approve is you. If you don't like it you can let your hair grow back.

Welcome, Ihor! If you don't want to go sly right away, you could always buzz your hair shorter to get used to having lesser hair. Enjoy and stick around and feel free to ask questions if you have any. Good Luck!

G'Day Ihor

Welcome to the forum mate.
As SlySirHarry said, why don't you try the buzz cut first and see how that goes.

Welcome. Stick around and learn about head shaving. Bald By Choice is a fun way to go.
Once you try it, you won't want to go back to hair.
Your hair does not look bad. Your English is good. I Bet you'll like a shaved bald head. It you have the itch, it won't go away until you do it.

Welcome Ihor. If you've always thought bof going sly, you won't be content until you give it a try. Maybe you should follow Harry's suggestion and start by buzzing it down in stages to give yourself and others the chance to get used to it.

Hello guys again and thanks a lot for encouragement and support. Sorry for the late answer: I came to my home town in the East of Ukraine a week ago to celebrate Orthodox Easter, which is still in full swing (it' s celebrated for 3 days, on May, 5-7, this year. Even unreligious people go to church to have Easter bread, eggs, meat and wine sanctified and have a festive meal afterwards. I was happy to see my relatives but never thought that I would be unable to send at least one message on the net because everybody was having fun including local Internet providers:-) Anyway, I' m online again, though I'm not sure if it'll be this way for long. The main thing is I decided to follow SlySirHarry's advice and try a buzz cut that I got in a barbershop (by the way, the only barbershop in Kiev as the barbershop culture is making first steps in Ukraine; until recently there have been only unisex salons with mostly women as hairdressers - I guess such situation is a survival of a Soviet past). So, my relatives saw the new me with a very short buzz cut. You can see me with a new haircut in a compartment of a train (sorry for the quality of the pic). You are right by saying that if you have the itch to shave your head, it won't go away until you shave your head smooth. So, I thought it was time I went from the buzzed to shaved smooth look. I wore a buzz cut only for one day; it was last Thursday that I went completely sly: I've been officially sly fo 5 days. First, I felt happy, relieved and proud. Then, of course, I was a bit self-conscious when I met old friends and acquaintances, I still am, but I'm quite determined to stay sly for a while. I like the look a lot though I have a scar at the back of the head. When I get some tan, I'll post a pic to hear your comments and opinion.
P.S. thank you, stasiu, for hearty words in Ukrainian. Дякую, diakuiu!

Buzz looks good, Ihor! As for scars, don't let them deter you from going sly....I have three in the back of my head due to surgeries, accidents etc. though their appearance has been minimized through good doctors and medication that they hardly bother me anymore. Thanks for checking back in and looking forward to your sly pictures!

Congratulations on shaving your head bald. Do follow the 30 day rule. Keep it shaved for 30 days to give yourself time to adjust and for friends and family to adjust.
By the time I had put in 30 days, I was committed to shaving my head as long as I can. Maybe some day in the nursing home I won't be able to do this, but as long as I'm able, I plan to shave my head regularly.
So, welcome to the Sly world.
