moving makes me weep
« on: April 20, 2013, 07:04:56 PM »
Every time I move I swear I'll never move again!   :D

I still have over a month to go but I'm trying to tackle the thousands of books my exhusband and I own, hopefully donating most of them to the library.  Not an easy task in 350 sq feet with a neglected feeling puppy nipping at my feet  ;D   I am dead tired even though I slept late this morning.

Okay that concludes today's whine.

I don't envy you having to move all those books. Good luck!

Moving is about the most stressful thing I ever have to do.  I avoid it at all costs.

Yes, moving is a bore. Wait until you've had to do it six times-each way-overseas. Oddly, the easiest (Cape Town) was the furthest and the most difficult was Frankfurt. The other one (twice to each place) was Buenos Aires and because I took the ship with all my things aboard, it was actually quite pleasure. Until we got to B.A. and then the usual Porteno chaos fell in on me and it ceased being a pleasure.  Buenos Aires is about half Italian in character and the language is a soup of Spanish, Italian, a little English, French and a couple of local native dialects. Ever watch two motorists in Italian run into each other? Imagine the screaming of epithets, the hand waving, the getting in each others face. Eventually, of course, honour is, apparently, assuaged and they get back in their vehicles and drive away. Now. Imagine that on the dock by the pier. Many things are off loaded in huge nets and all I could thing was...boy, I'm glad I didn't bring the piano....PJ
