Well done, mate. Next, go to a real barber and ask for a zero cut then you will know what you will look like bald as the zero cut is as close to shaved bald that you will get.
All the best.

Welcome!
In the same boat here, 19 yo, and I've got the exact same hairline as you. Strange thing is though, it seems my hairloss has stalled, as I can't see that it has receded any more in the last few months.
Can any professionals on this matter say if he has just a mature hairline (which I'm starting to believe in my case), or if it is a receding hairline?

I've had a hairline like that for years. As I get old, some people say I have a receding hairline, but it's been like that since I was a young guy, but I took that as a good excuse to shave my head. And I really enjoy the look and feel. I was buzzed for about 5 years, then broke out the razor. Much prefer the shaved feel. Looks almost the same, but feels much better.

It might just be a mature hairline, because my hairline has always been really high up, and now with some additional recession it just looks weird/bad. I guess I'll have to see in the coming months/years

I could upload a clearer picture if anyone would want that..

Looks great Tom, mine started going at around 18 so I know how it feels, and I'm glad you're making the choice preemptively rather than waiting.

The shorter I cut it, the more I wanna go full sly. Might shave it all off with a razor next week.

Tom, what encouraging words!
My sentiments, exactly. The shorter you buzz your head, the more you want to shave it all off. And when you finally do, it is a very freeing feeling.
You'll never want to go back to hair again. Guys, Tom needs some encouragement.
Post a picture or two when you do.

First of all, welcome here!

I did the same : cutting shorter and shorter until I decided to shave.

Quick update.
I've been rocking the no guard 1mm buzz for a while now, and I can't go back to a longer buzz. The first thing I did when I came home from a 9 days long family vacation was to buzz it all off. It hides the horseshoe pattern and feels so nice. I've come to realize I probably won't grow it out ever again. I'm saying farewell to my hair at 18. And I'm (99%) happy with that.
No pictures yet, but I'll post some at some point!

Tom, it's good to hear that you are so pleased with your new look. A bald head is much nicer than the horseshoe. When you are ready, go ahead and shave it bald. It will look essentially the same as what you have right now, but it will feel much better. A shaved smooth head has a very nice feel to it.
It's been fun to read your progress to SLY. It mirrors the story of so many guys on this site. I'm looking forward to your sly photos when you are ready to post.

Thanks for update ! So glad you found SBG ! You are an inspiration to us all and especially the young guys dealing with premature male pattern balding.
