Thought I'd pop a few lines down about who I am as I have joined the group today and also shaved my head today. I have watched the slybaldguys videos on YouTube and they encouraged me to take the plunge and go from short buzzed hair to bald. I am going to follow the 30 day rule and see how I get on. I have just turned 41 and my hair was thinning at the crown and was also receeding at the front which was beginning to annoy me. I am a bit concerned about some close friends and family members reaction to the totally bald head I now have but going to see how I get on! The members on this site are very positive so I know where to come for words of encouragement over the next few weeks!

I had the same concerns as you when I first shaved my head. A couple of people didn't recognize me at first and two others (only two) said they don't like it. Everyone else either said it looks good on me or they didn't say anything at all.

Well done on taking the decision to join the ranks of the Sly brotherhood. You look very cool, mate!
I agree with mrzed - just give your family & friends time to adjust to seeing you as a bald guy, which also means that you need to razor shave your head every day - that is a commitment that is well worth carrying through with.
Keep in touch as often as you can - i can guarantee that you will get lots of support here. -

Thanks everyone! Went for my usual run today along the coastal path where I live in Torbay (Devon UK) and have to admit I loved the feeling of the rain and wind on my bald head. Already had a couple of comments from people I know and it's all been positive so far. 2 days down - 28 to go.
