Hey guys,
My names Alfy, I'm from Wash DC, I'm 19 years old and have been receding since 17. I buzzed my hair to #1 clipper and it seems to be working for me. Though I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this look since the thinning on my crown is evident and it bothers me a bit.
I'm thinking about shaving my head but I'm pressured not to because its a big step, do you guys think the sly look will work me?
I haven't got much feedback about my buzz cut, I used to have long hair and haven't really adjusted to having short hair yet.
I would appreciate any feedback and tips on how to improve my style once I go sly.
I'm planning on going sly this April!

Welcome! The buzz cut doesn't look too bad, but give sly a try; as we always say, if you don't like it, you can always grow it back. Good luck!

G'Day Alfy mate

Welcome to the Bastion Of Baldness.
You have a buzz cut and to be honest it's not that a big of a step to go Sly. that's how I started many many years ago. You mentioned that you didn't get much feedback when you started with the buzz cut and you won't receive much more when you go Sly.
As SlySirHarry said, if you don't like the sly look you can grow it back. I am sure once you go Sly, you will love it.

Welcome to the bald brotherhood Alfy. You look good with the buzz. You have the face and head that can pull off the shaved head, so I think you will love it when you decide to shave your head.

Welcome. First off you will look good sly. Second walk tall and proud and you will own the sly look. Since you are already buzzing your hair and buzzed it from long hair it may indeed be a big step but as long as you believe in yourself it will be a lot easier. Don't let no one offend you by what they say or don't let yourself get put down by your decision. It is your head and it is your choice what to do with it not no one else choice. Be proud of who you are and own the look and people will think you look good

I also think you have nothing to worry about - the sly look will fit you as far as I can tell from your picture, but I know its not an easy step - took me 2 months to decide if I'm going sly or not - but I really like it now after a week of getting used to it and getting different reactions from all sides
I think the difference from buzzcut to bald is not too big, here is how I look when not shaving for 4-5 days and freshly shaved - in my opinion not a big difference - just try it, the hair will grow back very rapidly - when I'm shaving in the morning I already have stubbles at night

you could also grow it out for some days and then shave again

from the front it doesn't like there is anything wrong with your hair and there is no necessity to shave. However I also suffer at the crown area and buzzing does make that stand out more. You could give it a try and within a couple of days you'll have some fuzz.

I would say that sly will defintely suit you, you are almost there now. I would think that once you go for it won't look back...if you are thinking about it you want to give it a try....
