30 Days In and Loving It!

My wife got me the HeadBlade for Christmas and by the 27th, I was bald!
I'm loving it so far, just dealing with the oh-so-fun red bumps that so many other beginners deal with. I think I put too much pressure on the back of my head and neck. Not sure if its razor burn or folliculitis or something else. I bought some Witch Hazel and have been using it for two days. Hydrocortisone 1% seemed to help the first time I used it, but not so much the second time. I'm hoping it clears up soon...it's driving me nuts!
Anyway, here's the first picture I took after shaving my head the first time, complete with my 18 month old photobombing from her carseat!

The sly look works good for you. Try ice and rub it on your head I found it helps a lot which I used it the first time I shave and I have had no irritation at all

Welcome Matt, looks great.
I don't think you'll need it, but suggest you make the commitment to the 30-day challenge which is mentioned elsewhere on the site. If you need it posted here, leave a message and I'll add it in.
You look really comfortable.
As it should be.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm done with the 30 Day Challenge! I'm 35 or 36 days in now!
I'm definitely sticking with it! Just ready to figure out what works best for me for avoiding the irritation.

I read about that somewhere on here the other day when these bumps first showed up. I haven't shaved since then thinking if it was razor burn that I didn't want to irritate anymore than it already was. I'm going to try it next time I shave.

You might also try Shave Secret oil ... massage a few drops onto your scalp before putting on the shave cream/lotion (I also let a drop of oil slide down my razor cartridge).
The Shave Secret has helped several fellows I know who were dealing with the red bumps. I got it at Wal-Mart - about $3.50 for a 5/8 oz bottle which lasts me several months. It's on a cardboard backer and usually towards the top of the shelf unit near the blades and such.

Man, I had to go get trash bags so I slipped through the shaving section...no Shave Secret Oil. All they had was the price tag and an empty row above it.

What razor did you use?
I used the Headblade Sport with the factory blade on it first. I did well with it until it got dull. That was the first time I got razor burn bad.
Then I started using a Gillette Fusion. The last time I shaved was the 3rd time I used that blade, and I broke out bad.
I recently found some Headblade HB3s at Walgreens and bought them. I'm going to give those a shot next. I'm also going to not shave against the grain on the back of head!
To everybody else that has posted, I appreciate your kind and welcoming words!
