After a very busy day, a commuter settled down in her seat and closed her eyes as the train departed the city.
As the train rolled out of the station, the guy sitting next to her pulled out his cell phone and started talking in a loud voice: "Hi sweetheart it's Eric, I'm on the train - yes, I know it's the six thirty and not the four thirty but I had a long meeting - no, honey, not with that floozie from the accounts office, with the boss. No sweetheart, you're the only one in my life - yes, I'm sure, cross myheart . . . " etc., etc.
Fifteen minutes later he was still talking loudly, when the young woman sitting next to him, who was obviously angered by his continuous diatribe, yelled at the top of her voice:
"Hey, Eric, turn that stupid phone off and come back to bed!"
My guess would be that Eric doesn't use his cell phone in public any longer.
Hahaha that is awesome, I know a couple of girls that would do that too haha
How about when your in a elevator and a person is talking on their cell, I find that to be pretty rude also.
I dislike mobile phone calls on trains. The conversation is intrusive and sometimes embarrassing. I really do not want to know what the caller had for breakfast/is doing at the weekend/next plans to vomit.
Stick to texting. And if you have take a phone call, move to the ends of the carriage and be discreet. And do what the Japanese do: cover your hand over your mouth to keep the noise down.
Most trains here now have a quiet coach - mobile free zone.

Now, if only people in New York City knew about that.
I am always amazed at just how rude and obnoxious people are when they are talking on their phone. There was a time when phone calls were a private matter and you talked in a low tone.....................not anymore!
