good job paulie keep it up! i think when you really are tired of smoking its pretty easy to stop..its like with any other addictions.. you have to WANT to stop to be successful.

i just moved into my new house here in panama city and the other people were BOTH smokers...let me tell ya i'm having a hard time getting rid of that smell...went to wally world and bought all kinds of crap to knock it out...got every window in the house open with the a/c running, every ceiling fan on lol(electricity is still under the realtors name lol)...you just don't realize how friggin foul cigarette smoke is until you stop smoking.

try quitting with two selfish ass smokers in the house. did i say selfish? i meant inconsiderate. oh by the way, kajun, try the majic erasers to get the crap off of everything. may need some elbow grease but those things work wonders.

this place is pretty clean and the carpets have just been professionally cleaned..but there is still a smokey smell in here, i think us ex-smokers can smell it worst than non-smokers..i'll give the magic erasers a try though.

yea you living with 2 inconsiderate smokers will be tough,i lived alone when i was quiting and avoided it completely..i hope for your sake that they see you doing it and decide to quit also.

Thought I would give an update, I started back up mainly because of stress and my weak will. Though Ive started a more comfortable job in the last couple of weeks, so I wont have to travel as much and I wont have my job on the line and I gave up over a week again and I wont smoke in work, Im going climbing 2-3 times a week, the pubs are now smoke free. So everything is pointing towards quitting for good.

PBurke-hows it going for you? Still not smoking?

I quit smoking cold turkey when I fell pregnant, but jdoggy quit about 3 months after that with the Nicotine Lozenges - they work super well - I have tried them before - they totally stop you stressing and going mental.

Also, acupuncture works a treat - they put lil press needles on your ears - then you can press them whenever you want, helps with the withdrawal!

Good luck!!!

I a past post it all boils down to WANTING TO QUIT!  It has been wonderful for me and I cant believe I have actually done it.  It is going on 4 weeks and I feel great.  Do I want  a ciggy?  Yes very much so...but the temptations only get stronger but the refusal gets easier.  I was for sure last week being Mr Mom was gonna do me in.  I went as far as driving to the gas station to buy some but once I got there it was liek...WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING????? :Xo!  I was so pissed at myself for even going that far.  I walked in told teh cashier I was here to buy cigs but instead I bought a large fountain ( 42oz) and a big ol bag of chips and walked out.  Being that Im in a small town everyone knows who you are. And I told everyone that I was quitting..so if someone were to see me smoking it would be like...OK I THOUGHT YOU QUIT. and that would just really eat me up because that would make me a loser.  YOu do not have to live your life where cigs control you.  They are helpless, mindless little creatures and there are too many people who succumb to cig. smoking.  I smoked for 18 years and now I can say I think I really have it licked this time.  I have tried 3 or 4 times before and within a few months I was back at it.  Yes back then I would say I did it...but back in my mind I dont think I really did.  I still enjoyed it and wanted on so bad.  Now I dont even enjoy thinking about doing it.  It smells nasty, your taste buds go wacky, you try to run football with your son and you can hardly make it down the field.  All of that is behind me now.  And you ( and anyone else who is reading this that smokes) can do it.   All you have to do is set your mind to it.  I know it seems to easy...because it is.  You have to have your mind set right and your life focused.  I know I may be some critisim here..but another thing you need.  GOD!  Just give it to him and he will carry you thru some of your toughest situtations.  Some may say yeah what ever....dont push the God thing on me.  I will never push...I will only suggest.  Nothign wrong with suggesting....if you would just give it a try and really set your heart to it...set your sights right...it will take you a long way.  If it fails...hey at least you can say you tried and there are other options out there.   Just please...if you are considering quiting smoking.....let me know. Talk to ME!  I have done it....I will help coach anyone and everybody who messages me and I will try to do my best in helping you out.  Just think of all the benefits.  THere are much more benefits to not smoking than there are when you are smoking.  Dont believe me...just ask anyone.  They wont lie to you.....cigs do.
I want to give a big thanks out to all my sly bros who have encouraged, supported and just being there in the forums for me when I was going thru the withdraws.  It will totally change you as a person.  Like I said ....you dont believe me?  TRY IT!  Lookign forward to hearing or seeing how many people message me back on this.  See ya all around..............

the only thing i can tell you, is get a hobby, where you can stay busy with your hands and keep your mind off of them. also have you considered quitting cold turkey?what about carrying around some hard candy and when you get the urge, then pop in a piece of candy.
