wednesday will be the last day. it seems like this medicine will make it much easier. just hope i don't eat everything in sight. i'll keep you guys updated. may need to call on the brotherhood for some POSITIVE reinforcment. so for those of you that pray, remember me. for those that don't, wish me luck. and those that don't care either way, keep yer trap shut.

Good luck Paulie.

Stay with it once you start. And you're right...Those patches do taste pretty bad when you roll 'em and smoke 'em. I tried everything from the gum to the patches and nothing worked until I was ready to make the leap.
Itsonlyinmyhead you can do it bro. I smoked off and on for about 10 years and finally kicked it the day my son was born. I'm not saying go out and have a child to quit but just find something else more important to you. Something like yourself for one thing. Just think about the years you are taking off of your life span by smoking. Also the loved ones around you that you would be leaving behind for something as dumb as a smoke. Tyler mentioned something very good. Start working out a bit as you quit. You'll feel better about yourself from giving up smoking plus you'll start feeling better from the exercise. Before you know it you'll be saying, "what the hell did I ever smoke for in the first place." Like most have said in the end you have to just plain want to do it or it will never work. I had been working up to it for almost a year. Getting real serious and then my son came along and I told myself, "this is it, now I'm ready." We're all here for support man. I know it's not very healthy but if all else fails just eat more. That's what I did for a good few months right after I quit. I looked at it this way...Yeah, I might put on a few extra pounds and get chubby but I can always go back and lose that. I can't go back and replace a screwed up lung or cancer.

I wish you nothing but luck! Quitting smoking is the best thing you can do for yourself, your loved ones and the rest of society in general

Good luck man - you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Not only will you be a better man for it, but so will your family. Your car will smell a heck of a lot better too! My Dad quite 20 years ago. Even with primer, he has been unable to get rid of a nicotine stain on the ceiling over his chair. Think, if it did that to a ceiling, what it did to his lungs.
Good Luck

Try to keep the junk food out of the house. Or if you must have it on the premises for your kids or something, tell them to stash it away in their rooms somewhere and not to tell you where it is.
Good luck to you. Prayers from New Jersey are coming your way.
