Hey all,
Just joined yesterday and was reinstated again today due to a unintentional ban. I think a site like this a great gift for those that have shaved heads and can share some ways to shave to improve. I have had a shaved head since I was in 7th grade, lost a bet; never bet on the Dolphins vs Jets again. I never shaved it with a razor, just with clippers really short. I have been shaving my head on and off for years now. However, I just recently, within the last year, to start shaving it all the time. I like the clean look and smooth feel. I shave about every 2 or 3 days and want to start shaving everyday, but a little scared I will nick my self up pretty bad if I do. I shave using a mix of wet shaving and traditional shaving. What I mean is I mix my own lather with a boar brush, sometime my badger brush, and shave soap, I prefer VDH soaps and have a VDH mug and boar brush. Look forward to reading all your posts and hopefully pick up a few ideas on how to better shave the dome, small budget style.

Welcome 82, I hope that you enjoy the forum. You'll find all the answers to your questions her. We keep our heads smooth in every way you can imagine. If you are traditional there is a thread going now where DE shavers discuss their daily shave...SOTD. They write about different blades, soap, oils and after shaves...check it out and good luck.

Welcome to the club.
Just take it slow when you shave and you should come out of it nick free.

Welcome (back)! Always a pleasure to hear from someone who has head shaving experience....Seventh grade? That's impressive! Enjoy and keep posting (not that you need encouragement to do so)!

Welcome ... with a long period of experience, what would you tell an "on the fence" guy is the #1 best think about having a shaved head?

Yea, been buzzing my head with clippers since seventh grade, I think the first time I actually used a razor on my head was sometime in high school around my junior or senior year. It never caught on with me too much so I didn't do it often. However closer to my early to mid twenties I shaved my head with the gel and razor more often. I've made it a life style choice to stay as bald as possible about a year ago, 30 now.

That I would say is multi-purposed. At least form me I like the shaved head because of easy maintenance, the cooling effect it has on warm days with a breeze, and even on days without a breeze, and the feel. Shaving ones head is not a fad that will go out of style anytime soon, I tell myself the same thing about the use of braces/suspenders also but thats a nother topic and site

, it's a lifestyle choice that is easily changed if it does not suit a person. I say give it try, if it works for you that is great and welcome to the brotherhood, if it doesn't work for you then you can always grow your hair out (depending) and at least you can say "I tried/did that".
