Like brother ANDRE, I'm a little older but felt compelled to post. I'm 47 years old. Just the other night at basketball practice ( I coach 4th, 5th, & 6th graders) a set of parents I've known for over a year were talking to me about their son. Somehow the subject of age came up and when I told them I was 47 they were floored. They thought I was about 39 or 40.

Might have something to do with my SLY attitude..... I'm constantly talking to the kids while they're on the court and I run the court non-stop with them.

Have I mentioned that I LOVE my LIFE???????

I too started losing my mop when i was in my late teens/early 20's.  I started cutting really short (buzz cut), and people thought I was older than i was.  When i was 21, a coworker, who didn't know my real age, thought i was 35.  I was floored.  A few years later, a lady friend suggested that i shave it sly.  She thought it would take a few years off of my look.  I hesitated, but thought it might be interesting.  I let her do it, and it wasn't too bad.  I was VERY self concious at first.  I remember we went to the mall soon afterward.  I wore a hat, again, b/c i didn't want to be a laughing stock.  I happend to run into my mother in the hall, and after a minute of talking, she asked me if i had shaved my hair off.  I looked at the floor, and reluctantly said yes.  She tore my hat from me, and I felt ashamed.  I grew it back, for a couple more years, and a different lady friend shaved it again for me, as her b/f, now husband, one of my best friends, also was a sly guy.  I never looked back after that.  My grandmother occasionally askes me to grow it back, but she'll never get her wish.  She loves me just the same, though.  I love being sly, I enjoy the head shaving process, and love this site and feel blessed to be amongst some great individuals.

Yeah most of you know my story already, I'm 25 and getting pretty damn bald on top... still sporting a buzz rather than a shave, though. That's mostly cause I hate my headshape and feel that the little hair (#3) covers it up a bit...

Why did I go sly? I had been wanting to try out a new look. As soon as I learned about the sly look, I was intrigued!
I thought it was a pretty big change... a change for the better! I almost feel like a new person.  :D

Indeed, the Sly look gives you confidence, makes you feel good, and a lot of the time, gets you noticed. It is a great feeling to have a freshly shaved head and I walked out the front door feeling 10 foot tall.

That about sums it up, dino.     O:O

Good to hear someone embracing this at a young age. You really have a great attitude.
I can only hope you will influence some of our younger "fencers" who are allowing themselves to be held back or being unsure about shaving it all off. Keep up the good work and maybe you can help them realize freedom awaits.    O0

The whole age thing is a sliding scale.  When you're 25, you don't want to look 30, and when you're 35 you don't want to look 40, and so on.   Thinning and receding hair is very aging.  Shaving it off erases that.  It's that simple.
That sums it up RazorX. Couldn't agree with you more.
