A New Beginning
« on: August 22, 2012, 05:47:21 PM »
Hi everyone
My names Gerardo and I'm 20 years old.
About a week ago I decided to take the plunge and go completely sly. Now it's the not first I've tried going sly. 4 months ago I went smooth and found out I was have really bad irritation and break out to my head within the first week and let it grow back out again. Then I stumbled upon this site and it informed me on reason why the irritation and break outs due to the fact I was using single disposable razors. So I went and bought my own Gillette fusion pro-glide razor and noticed the irritation gone.

Finally after building my confidence to go completely sly. I have to say I love the good attention I get from people. Once in a while I get negative feedback from old time friends but, maybe it's because they've known me with hair and it's just a weird look for them.
But it's official and I've decided to me hair free on my head. How ever I do love a shine on mine, not much of a matte person and info on what product to buy?
Advice, tips and comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Gerardo

Yes, welcome Gerardo.

Looks great and you've already experienced how terrific it is to be Sly.

I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in about how to have a shiny dome. It can be as simple as olive oil or as complex as you want.

Also, look at this topic about a mega-watt shine: http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=17878.0

If you have any questions or you just want to share stories of how great it is to be Sly, we're here for you.

Thanks guys for the friendly welcoming, I knew this would be the place to be at!

FrontierGuy, thanks for the link it was really helpful. It turns out I have that product laying around the house. I'll use it tomorrow on my way to Cali. I'll upload pics later on.

Tm1, My first day going sly I did use baby oil but I live in Vegas and it's sure a hell of a hot weather here. Maybe if i was more in a not so hot climate state. I would keep on using it but, it triggers breakouts and since I have an oily skin its not the best way to go.
Also welcome to the club Tm1.

But I will try the sheen product for sure.

Welcome Gerry!
Don't worry about the negative feedback, they will get used to it, with time, some might even change their mind and like the look.

When I apply SPF 30 or higher it shines my dome very good.
That worked for me too.

Hello and welcome to this forum Gerado.

There are so many great products to use as a baldie that we as consumers are spoiled for chioce.  I suggest you try out different products that are available to you.  This experimentation phase can be fun and you will soon know what is for you and what is not.
