Hey, welcome. I am also new (today's my 5th day). I think they will understand at work--it's clean, neat, hygienic, and very professional looking. If they don't understand, then you can always grow it back.

Hi there,
I am a new member from Scotland and hoping I can take the final step to becoming Sly. I have shaved a few times in the past but have not had the confidence to show it off or keep it. I have slowly been getting shorter and shorter buzz cuts and I am now sitting with a 0.5. I really want to stay bald...any good tips for taking the plunge?
Sounds like you are curious. Well, just shave your head and the curiosity ends. In any case, with your hair so short, doubt if anyone will notice. Expect you. And you get a terrific smooth head.
BTW, congratulations to Scotsman Chris Hoy on the historic six gold win. -

Thanks everyone for your support. I took some photos this morning to see how short my hair currently is and think I am almost there anyway. I tried to upload but don't think it worked. I am going to take the final step later on, you guys have really helped!

If you shrink your photos to about 60 k they should post. Use irfanview if you need a tool to change photo size. It's free.
